[Stoopid Housewives] A particular alcoholic beverage company is requesting that all references to their brand and this particular Housewife be severed.
This particular alcoholic beverage company obviously does NOT want their bottle of booze connected in any way with the Housewives!
We’re calling this the “Situation” effect… if you recall, Abercrombie and Fitch actually offered a large sum of money to Mike “TheSituation” Sorrentino from “JerseyShore” to NOT wear their clothing!
As far as we know, this alcohol brand is not PAYING, nor has offered payment… they just don’t want their booze associated with the Housewives!
Could this be just another hint that the Housewives have jumped the shark?

Could this be Bethenney Frankel and the Skinny Girl cocktails line? Once a company bought the name from her, they may have decided to disassociate from her and her upcoming divorce drama.
That would be a terrible idea, considering she is getting her own nationally syndicated talk show. That’s basically entirely free, daily, one hour advertising for them. Bethenny created the brand and its name, there is just no way they are going to be able to separate her from it, unless they change the name entirely.
And I’m pretty sure Bethenny retained the rights to the Skinny Girl name for other products as part of her negotiations. Maybe they will SOMEHOW manage to distance themselves by simply not having her referred to much or by going a different way in their future advertising than ties to her?

It’s her own brand that she owns and she’s the face of it, so I doubt she’s trying to distance herself from her own brand of pinot. It’s called “Ramona Singer Pinot Grigio”, after all. Definitely not Ramona.
I know Teresa also made her own line of skinny bellinis, so it wouldn’t be her, either, since it’s her brand.
I doubt it’s Bethenny, considering she founded the company and, as a poster mentioned above, has her own talk show and is still pretty much promoting the company although she sold it.
I know at one point there was a very expensive brand of champagne that several of the Housewives would have at parties, so I’m going with that. I don’t know who it was, but possibly Adrienne Maloof and the BH ladies. Could have been another Housewives’ franchise altogether, though. Does Nene always refer to a certain brand of champagne? I keep thinking of her possibly referencing Veuve or Dom or something.
Anyway, it’s definitely not one of the women who has started their own brand of alcoholic beverages.

That’s kind of dumb, really. The Housewives shows are the only ones that I’ve actually seen influence the stuff people buy. Maybe kids buy stuff based on what they see on Disney shows or something, but in my entire adult life it’s only been the Housewife shows that I’ve seen influence the things that adults buy. I actually bought a phone case because it looked like one I saw and admired on one of those shows, and I have never done anything like that in my life.
I agree with you. But if you recall, The Situation vs A&F conflict brought a ton of publicity to A&F– they basically just started all that drama to garner publicity, as the brand has been going toward a downward spiral for almost 10 years now (um, hello! maybe don’t charge $80 for a shirt you keep bringing out season after season!). I’m guessing this is what that alcohol brand is trying to do.

I think a major clue is the fact that the brand isn’t named in this blind– makes me think it’s a brand that a housewife has been paid to endorse. I was kind of *hoping* (this is super petty of me, but I Just. Don’t. Like. Her.) it was Melissa Gorga and whatever that vodka is (I’m pretty keen on vodka, and I’ve never seen this brand in stores), but she hasn’t done anything that would make the brand (which needs publicity, obviously) want to sever ties. Can’t be Bethenny, since she created Skinnygirl and the only reason people buy that watered down cr*p is because her name is associated with it. So after this long, rambling post, my final guess is the BH housewives and whatever liquor Mauricio was trying to give to Ken (awkward alert!).
There are a lot of guesses for Bethany, Ramona, and Nini.I agree that it can’t be any of them. It’s a BRAND that one of them has been paid to advertise.
But I think you might be mistaken about Melissa Gorga. RHONJ is taping now. Any drama happening on the show is going to be kept very quiet until the new season airs. She had an affair with a female producer of the show named Cat Rodriguez. BlindGossip reported it last September. Rodriguez was fired for “conflict of intrest” after they were found out. I think this has come to light in the season taping at the moment and Voli Vodka pulled the plug.
I think it is Melissa Gorga. It’s not a BG blind so clues may not be so clear,that’s just my opinion. The reason I say Melissa is that another site has a story in the works re Melissa and some sponsors wanting to get rid of her due to some acquaintances. Supposedly she has an army doing her dirty work & they are mean to anyone on team Teresa (which is beyond dumb ) so my guess is def Gorga! Don’t ever want to wish bad on anyone but this lying not a stripper needs to GO!
Also, ValleyoftheGalls, so many leaks have already happened in re to this season taping so doubt that is a reason.

I’ll go with Bethanny…if you look at the Skinny Girl website the only place she’s mentioned is in the “about us” section as the creator. She isn’t anywhere else on the site. Seems like they are trying to distance themselves from her otherwise she would be more prominent on their website.

I am going with Bethanny Frankel as well. There was a previous blind about Bethanny having a rumored eating disorder, so the “skinnygirl” brand would want to distance themselves from that.

I am going to guess they don’t want to “endorse” ANOREXIA. Bethanny admitted to struggling with an eating disorder. What if it’s gotten really bad and next thing you know, they are being pro-active in separating the popular brand from an eating disorder.

I don’t think this is Bethenny F because the corp had already distanced itself from associating her with their skinny girl brand of lower calorie alcoholic beverages. In fact, their second commercial out last year , which promoted the fuller line, did not use Bethenny and only did a camera shot of the bottles on a table and a woman in red at her waist area only. Bethenny said she retained rights to the name for her food products and possibly clothing undergarments or whatever I think. However the corp has rights to the name for all alcohol related products. Including clothing food etc. so they had already moved away from any dependence on her last year.
Therefore, I think this might be either the very high end champagne brand Cristal that the BH women like to flaunt and have on several shows or it is the very revered classic Jack Daniels who probably cringed every time the low life’s, criminals and low class jerks said that name on the RHONJ,( like yo, yeah gimme a jack…. Ouch…cringe..).
