I co-sign on Jonah Hill guess….does anyone else besides me think that being nominated has changed Jonah at all? It’s like he’s taking himself soooo seriously, getting all actor-ey, and he really, really thought he had a chance to beat Christopher Plummer. It’s like, dude, really? He will never get to A+++ list star level, and I truly believe he’s starting to think he belongs there. This is another case of strange people getting nominated that aren’t really that great to begin with, IMHO.
I hope it hasn’t! I wish Jonah would stick to Superbad-esque roles, because he’s hilarious. He was great in Moneyball, but why waste the talent of someone SO funny in dramas?

i watched the red carpet and he actually seemed really humble about it in my opinion, he said he was just honored to be nominated, and he never actually thought his career would get there because he is a comic actor so maybe it’s just opened a whole lot of new doors for him and he’s seriously evaluating where his career wants to go?

I believe they filmed an SNL piece about this very comment. The skit hit on everyone of your points. Jonah does not seem to take himself too seriously and,to me, he seemed more awestruck than entitled throughout the awards season.
I disagree that he doesn’t have the chops. He really impressed me in “Get Him to the Greek”. I also disagree that comic actors aren’t on the same level of talent as dramatic. Robin Williams is an example of one who can do both, as are Whoopi Goldberg and Robert DeNiro. If anything, the comic ability adds to their debt. Too many comedies get overlooked at Oscar time when they are actually more brilliant than the dramas.

Gary Oldman is a recovering alcoholic. He claims he hasn’t touched alcohol since the 1990s and there are a lot of people vouching for him. Hopefully, he’s not the one.
George Clooney is too much of a control freak to allow himself to be that drunk. Have heard that he doesn’t touch alcohol any more. So it’s not him.

He was nominated for his role in ‘A Better Life’ and he finished ‘Savages’ (starring John Travolta, Uma Thurman, Salma Hayek, Benicio del Toro and Emile Hirsch) in October, long before the Academy Awards.
I don’t think it’s Jonah Hill. Pretty sure George and Brad went to a party that George hosted so not sure they were even at the Vanity Fair Party. I would be surprised if Jonah thought he might win so don’t see him drowning his sorrows over the Oscar. If it is nominees from this year, I hope Gary Oldman didn’t fall off the bandwagon. Nick Nolte wouldn’t shock anyone and if George and Brad weren’t at the Vanity Fair party it only leaves 6 actors to choose from when you take out the two winners.

I just can’t get the “eyebrows” and “sorrows” clues out of my head. Remeber Clooney in O Brother? I don’t necessarily think its him; we don’t even know if he was at the Vanity Fair party, but those 2 clues just seem over the top to me. He was doing something with his eyebrows when he was singing Man of Constant Sorrow.
