Easy – Kevin Costner who is not really a nice person anyway so not surprised here. Costner – untouchable?

  2. HM006 says

Michael Douglas. Won for Wall Street (Best Actor) and One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest (Best Picture). He has a house in Santa Barbara and he and his family have been fixtures there for years, so he probably thinks he owns the place. He’s in his 60s and is still (relatively) handsome.

  3. TheYellowDart says

Easy – Kevin Costner won two oscars for _Dances with Wolves_ and was also in _The Untouchables_.

  4. NotoriousDiG says

With the exception of the phrase “60-something,” I feel like this is Kevin Costner – 2 time Oscar winner, still handsome, lives in Montecito, lands the copter in a “field” (Field of Dreams?) and is “Untouchable?”

  5. kim444 says

DeNiro seems to fit, he was in The Untouchables. But I thought he lived in NYC. But he probably has homes all over the place though.

  6. Beatrixie says

Hm, I was sure it was Jeff Bridges, age 62, who has lived in Santa Barbara with his wife for over 16 years…. But he has only won 1 Oscar! Back to the drawing board…

    • Mermaid says

Jeff Bridges is apparently one of the nicest guys in show biz and respectful of others. He comes off as a total sweetie.

  7. WaitLemmeGuess says

The Oscars website has a database that I searched. Here’s a list that I trimmed down to only include best/supporting actor who are still living:

    Michael Caine — Supporting Actor (1986) (1999)
    Daniel Day-Lewis — Actor (1989) (2007)
Robert De Niro — Supporting Actor (1974); Actor (1980)
Gene Hackman — Actor (1971); Supporting Actor (1992)
    Tom Hanks — Actor (1993) (1994)
    Dustin Hoffman — Actor (1979) (1988)
    Sean Penn — Actor (2003) (2008)
Kevin Spacey — Supporting Actor (1995); Actor (1999)
Denzel Washington — Supporting Actor (1989); Actor (2001)

The only actor in his 60s is Robert De Niro. “Untouchable” is probably a reference to the movie the Untouchables, in which he starred as Al Capone.

      • Shouldbeworking says

Actually, nothing in the blind says this is about an actor. “Oscar winner” could very well be for Best Director and “star” might simply mean famous. For me, “untouchable” does tip the scales in Costner’s favor, but Spielberg can’t be ruled out.

  8. Okayeah says

I was SO sure this was Kevin Costner. He’s won two Oscars, has a ranch in Santa Barbara and Played Elliot Ness in The Untouchables. But he’s only 57. Still could be him assuming the Enquirer doesn’t know its stuff (which it frequently doesn’t)!

  9. brunettegal804 says

Sounds like Kevin Costner but he isn’t 60 something. He is still in his fifties. Harrison Ford flies copters and is the right age but he isn’t a two-time Oscar winner and I don’t think he lives in Santa Barbara but in Jackson Hole, WY.

  10. giblert says

My research tells me Kevin Costner was in the movie The Untouchables. He has 2 Oscars. And he lives in Santa Barbara. However, I don’t know if he has a helicopter and he’s only 55 years old (not 60-something).

  11. whatbssaid says

I’d go with Kevin Costner… He was in Untouchables, has 2 Oscars, lives on a ranch in Santa Barbara, which is large enough that it’s not unreasonable to think that it would have a helipad… Only problem is, he just turned 57.

  12. sunstamp says

    Two time Oscar winners:
Fredric March (Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, 1931 and The Best Years of Our Lives, 1945) Dead

Spencer Tracy (Captains Courageous, 1937 and Boys Town, 1938)Dead

Gary Cooper (Sergeant York, 1941 and High Noon, 1952) Dead

Marlon Brando (On the Waterfront, 1954 and The Godfather, 1972) Born 1924 puts him at 87

Jack Nicholson (One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, 1975 and As Good As it Gets, 1997) Born 1937 puts him at 74

Dustin Hoffman (Kramer vs. Kramer, 1979 and Rain Man, 1988) Born 1937 also 74

Daniel Day-Lewis (My Left Foot, 1989 and There Will Be Blood, 2007)born 1957 puts him at 54

Tom Hanks (Philadelphia, 1993 and Forrest Gump, 1994) Born 1956 puts him at 55

Sean Penn (Mystic River, 2003 and Milk, 2008) Born 1960 puts him at 51

none are in their 60’s, but Tom Hanks is the closest.

  13. susie loo hoo says

BTW, first time posting. I LOVE THIS SITE! :-)
IMDB claims John Travolta is 58 now, but I’m guessing he’s a tad older than that, since it’s so common for everyone in Hollywood to fib about age. I’m sticking with John Travolta. But the “untouchable” clue has me perplexed…

  14. Lozza2 says

    Who’s in the Untouchables?

Costner has 2 Oscars but is 56.

Connery has one Oscar and is 71.

De Niro is 68 and has two Oscars.

Oh look we have a winner!!

    • Mermaid says

He was my guess too but it didn’t show up for some reason ??

But, like you, I don’t think de Niro has property in LA. De Niro loathes LA. He lives in NY and I doubt he would have any property in LA since he hates even going there.

      • WaitLemmeGuess says

Santa Barbara isn’t in LA. It’s the central coast of California and hundreds of miles from Hollywood.

      • WaitLemmeGuess says

Oops. It’s a hundred miles even, not hundreds. Just seems like that when you hit LA traffic. πŸ˜›

      • Mermaid says

Sorry! I meant California. I’m guilty of using them interchangeably: LA ~ California. I’m Canadian. 😐

  15. cleverlemming says

There aren’t many two-time male oscar winners to choose from: Tom Hanks, Sean Penn, Daniel Day-Lewis, Dustin Hoffman or Jack Nicholson.

  16. sbgirl says

Kevin Costner, FTW. He owns land out by the polo fields here in SB. Plus, I heard he threw a huge Christmas party for his kids and their friends on this land that included Santa flying in on a helicopter.

  17. apple martini says

    De Niro. “Untouchable.”
Costner has two Oscars for Dances With Wolves, but he’s not in his 60s.

  18. susie loo hoo says

My bad, I had guessed John Travolta, but he was only nominated twice (I thought I read he won, but I misread IMDB).

DeNiro seems like he would have that attitude to not care what neighbors think, but I’ve never heard him described as handsome. Sounds more like Costner, and that his real age might be a few older than the 57 years reported.

  19. WaitLemmeGuess says

Sooo, it’s either De Niro who fits all the clues but doesn’t live in Santa Barbara, or Costner who does live in Santa Barbara but isn’t in his 60’s. Something tells me this blind is a little broken. πŸ˜›
