[BlindGossip] She’s off her meds, and it’s not good. She has returned to the very behavior that got her into so much trouble in the first place, including the dr*gs and the alc*hol and the self-harming.
It’s almost surreal to hear her spout absolute bullsh*t about being healthy and happy and sober when she is exactly the opposite. In fact, just a week ago she was out at some madhouse of a bar, dr*nk off her ass, doing multiple shots and snorting c*ke in the bathroom.
Let’s cut to the chase, and get more direct: Look, we know that you and your friends are reading this. It is absolute madness for you to think that this will end well. You are a beautiful and talented girl, but you ARE going to lose your fans and your career and probably your life if you keep this up.
Remember how upset one of your siblings was when someone picked on them? Do you realize how much more emotionally destroyed they would be if you actually died? You should think about that, because that is exactly where you are heading right now. We don’t care if you lie to people about what your problems are. We don’t care if you pretend that you are going on vacation. Just get yourself back into rehab (or treatment, if it makes you feel better to call it that), and get well. Now.

BlindGossip.com: Demi Lovato is being admitted to Passages, an in-patient addiction treatment center located in Malibu, California. While her medical records can not be shared by the treatment center, we have learned from close friends that Demi will be treated for alcohol addiction and addiction to drugs, most notably cocaine. Demi is expected to remain a resident of the facility for several weeks, after which time she will transition to out-patient treatment.
Demi Lovato, a beautiful and talented signer and actress, has been living a double life. She was promoting “Sober is Sexy” during the day… and drinking and drugging at night.
We know that Demi and her friends read BlindGossip every day, so when we heard that she was slipping back into destructive habits, we felt it was our responsibility to address her directly. Several of her friends told us that Demi did, in fact, read the blind, and was very upset by it. She was especially furious that we were “dragging her little sister into this”. Fortunately, several of her friends looked past her anger, recognized that there really was a problem, and decided to pass the blind along to her family and management team. Within 24 hours, they intervened, and Demi is now in rehab.
We are very, very happy that Demi will now be getting the help she needs. Whether or not our blind item provided the catalyst to push her toward treatment is inconsequential. The most important thing is that she gets well and has the opportunity to lead a happy and successful life. Demi, we wish you nothing but the best.
UPDATE: Demi Lovato’s PR team has asked BG to let its readers know that, as of today, 1/25/2012, Demi Lovato is not a resident at an in-patient treatment center. They will not confirm her sobriety and will not be releasing any statements about her sobriety or her personal health. They claim that Demi will be publicly seen and photographed out in Los Angeles later today when she goes to a medical appointment.
This is sad – because it won’t work for Demi. Rehab doesn’t work until you realize yourself that you have a problem, girl.
That’s what I was thinking. Her family and management can shove her into rehab all they want, but at the end of the day if she doesn’t really want to be clean and sober, she won’t be.
But what other options do her loved ones and those with a vested interest in her success have, now that they’re more fully aware of the situation? Should they sit by and watch her further self destruct?
Even if she’s forced to go, the hope is that she’ll open her eyes on her own while there.
It’s a much smarter risk to take than to ignore that she needs extra care, comfort and attention. It’s a much safer risk than to witness the slide into darkness further substance abuse and self harm would necessarily cause.
I think what Ace did with this blind was superb.
I wish Demi strength, courage and a quiet mind in the days to come.
I’m so glad she’s getting help. I think it was a very responsible thing to do, to write the blind, because she really needed her family and friends to intervene. I hope the treatment works and she can live a happy, sober life when she’s out.
Hmmm… looks like her team has already come out swinging, claiming that this is a “crock” and that she has NOT checked into rehab again.

Since Demi and her friends read this, I will say this. First of all, Demi, it takes great courage to ask for help. I have watched you grow and my kids love watching you. I took my daughter to your concert and was amazed at your incredible talent.
You remind me a lot of my niece. She too, was a very talented and beautiful young girl. But she also has mental illness (bi-polar, depression, anxiety) and developed a terrible alcohol and drug addiction. She tried to settle down with a family, but it ended in divorce-with her ex having custody of the kids-she hasn’t seen them in over 5 years. She started again with a new husband and 2 more kids-exact same thing happened again. She has been in and out of jail and prison ever since.
My niece came from a wonderful, supportive family and she had a beautiful home and was very popular. She was a very talented figure skater-but none of that mattered. She ended up like this. I am happy to say that she seems to be in a better place now but will need to stay in this program for about another year. Her recovery is tenuous at best and her future is uncertain.
I tell you this, because you are still young and you have the means to recover from this. But you CANNOT do it if you are ignoring the voices in your head that tell you that you can “party a little” “no one will know” “I’ll quit tomorrow” or any of that. You should also not worry about your career-you won’t have one if you are not well…period. Just look at Lindsey Lohan for a perfect example. Your career will be there when you get back, but you have to put yourself and your health and well being first. Do it now, before it IS too late and the longer you wait, the harder it will be. Your talent will always be there, but only if you take care of yourself.
I wish you nothing but the best sweet girl. And stay away from the destructive influences in your life-you can have your pick of friends and boyfriends who are supportive and are a positive influence without wasting time on those that will just bring you down.
Good luck Demi. There are many people praying for you. Unfortuantely, I know too well the power of addiction and mental illness, but I also know there is hope! Keep trying! YOU are WORTH IT!!!
As for the confusion on the Demi/Demi thing-Ace knows the scoop here. Ace has contact with her friends. The reveal also states that her management and family had an intervention based on the blind. DM, on the other hand, called 911, etc… 2 different stories.
It seems weird that her people are denying it so fervently though. And they’re not skirting around the issue either… they’re calling it a crock.of.sh and saying it’s all lies.
I’m not denying that she’s relapsed, but I’m wondering if its necessarily true that she’s back in rehab.
@mzmarymac, I’m sorry to hear about your niece a person who suffer from mental illness, they have to stay on their meds.In Demi’s case,mixing alcohol, along with your meds can let you spiral out of control.

Regardless of whether or not shes in rehab i dont think anyone who truely is sober would have to talk so much about how sober is sexy etc etc etc. Overcompensation? I think so.
I think it’s sad how Demi’s camp is trying to hard to “prove them wrong” by calling the paps now? Okay. I’m so sick of this Demi chick and her fake sober is sexy attitude.
the wording “as of today, 1/25/12″ makes me wonder. Could she have been in rehab yesterday and checked out when the story broke? hm…. and no retraction or lawsuit either. even more hm….
I wouldn’t have caught this if you hadn’t mentioned it, shesnotagirl. Very astute. I’m as curious as everyone else to see what will happen in the weeks and months to come.
I wish Demi Lovato the best of luck, but it’s disappointing that last night it seemed as though she had checked into a facility and now she’s no longer there (or was never there?). She needs to worry less about her career and more about her sobriety and her LIFE. She’s so young and beautiful and seems talented too, she has so much to live for. I wish she realized it was okay to take a break away from the spotlight and really get her sh*t together.
Did anyone see where she was photographed leaving her medical appt? I have not seen anything. hmmm.
Demi cannot be in rehab, She has a show in chile 2/4 and two shows in march. So far no word on these shows being cancelled. Taht right there is the biggest evidence. This story got confused with DEMI MOORE.
I hope this “medical appointment” is not to have Wilmer’s spawn removed from her.
