Whitney Houston has died.
BlindGossip has confirmed the untimely passing of Whitney Houston with Houston’s publicist, Kristen Foster of KFPR.
The legendary singer, actress and producer won six Grammy awards, two Emmy awards, and 30 Billboard Music Awards across her extensive career. She was probably best known for her megahit “I Will Always Love You”. She just finished shooting the film “Sparkle”, which was to mark her return to the big screen.
The cause of death is unknown at this time. Both Houston and her ex-husband, singer Bobby Brown, struggled with drug and alcohol problems for years.
The following facts are developing: Whitney had spent the previous evening with the singer Ray J, whom she has been dating. Her body was discovered by her bodyguard – whose name is also Ray – in her room at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles. An emergency call was placed to the Beverly Hills Police Department, and paramedics arrived within two minutes. They attempted life-saving resuscitation measures, but she was pronounced dead at 3:55 pm PST. She was staying at the hotel to prepare for the annual party held by Clive Davis at the BHH prior to The Grammy Awards.
Whitney Houston was 48 years old. She is survived by one daughter, Bobbi Kristina.

Whitney Houston was well into drugs before she ever met Bobby Brown. She was never the pure angel everyone thought she was. That was just her image.

But METHADONE would most likely make you nod off since it’s actions mirror Heroin (I think). And methadone is frequently prescribed for addicts who can’t seem to get off the drugs (any drugs, not just heroin) on their own.
So Whitney may very well be on methadone which is a legal drug. She may have just started on it and is not used to it yet, hence the slurring words & nodding off.

Doubtful. Natalie had to have a liver transplant due to her past drug use. People who receive transplants have to take special drugs for the rest of their lives so they don’t reject their transplanted organ. I highly doubt she would be stupid enough to compromise that with street drug use.
Two words – George Best. Addicts who have transplanted organs don’t always have the strength to change, even when given such a massive opportunity

Whitney Houston was the first cassette tape bought with my own money…mostly because of Kids Incorporated doing How Will I Know. She remains my go-to for bad karaoke and my heart goes out to Bobbi Kristina. But not Ray J. That punk is trouble.

I’m not surprised. She had the money and time to get the very best of help and had been rehab numerous times and had the tools for sobriety and simply chose not to use them. The one person she professed to love the most, Bobbi Kristina, is the one who will be affected the most by her death. Bobby Kristina has already been photographed snorting coke. Whitney probably left her the bulk of her estate. Bobbi is the one I have sympathy for. Let’s hope she get’s her head straight before she ends up like her parents.

This is such a horribly sad, tragic loss that never should’ve occurred…there’s a teenager out there now without a mother, a mother and father without a daughter, siblings without a sister and a world without a rare talent. SOMETHING good needs to come out of this senselessness.

Unfortunately, she probably is and is also seeing what a great big new story it is, with friends and fans outpouring of emotion etc. etc etc It should be said that if this tragic ends meets Demi (both) or Lohan, don’t expect the entertainment world to fall at its feet. The reaction to Whitney’s death specific to her longevity and ubertalent. This would obviously not apply to Demis and Lohans of the world. Hate to sound harsh but its true.
Sometimes truth needs to be unapologetically harsh. I think becoming an icon (in any discipline) is a decades long process, based on harnessing a great talent in an appropriate medium. Longevity is one of the keys as is nurturing your gift, not destroying it.
Many people have great talent and potential but if their lives are cut short due to their own folly, it’s a tragedy because they didn’t seize the incredible opportunity to be the best version of themselves.
RIP Whitney. Your music was the soundtrack of my early 20′s….when I was in love, heartbroken there was always a song and sung so beautifully. So sad tonight.
You know BG, last night when I heard about Whitney on NY1 last night, I immediately thought about this blind! BG, you guys are so on top of the gossip, but as much as I love guessing about all the blinds, specifically the BG blinds, it felt horrible to “know” this about Whitney and then hearing about the end result as you can imagine. RIP to the one and only Whitney Houston.
