[BlindGossip] The arrival of a new baby is always a blessed event. This beautiful baby was born this week.
The baby was swaddled in a gender-neutral white blanket and was wearing a white cap. While there was some last-minute chatter about it being a boy, we believe it is a girl, and will refer to her as such.
She appears to be of average height and weight, and, most importantly, is healthy. She has light skin, brown eyes, a good patch of dark hair on her head, and is eating well. Her eyes were a bit puffy at first, but she opens them when she is held upright. She has some sort of skin issue (a rash or stain), but it does not affect her overall health.
The baby’s name is still a mystery. She was originally referred to as Casey (possibly KC?), but we’ve also heard her called DJ (possibly TJ?). However, we don’t have any reason to believe that this is her actual name or initials.
The mother is resting comfortably, and the parents are thrilled. They are expected to keep things quiet for a few more days. Congratulations to all!

E! reports she’s named “Blue Ivy”. Interesting that those initials also could stand for “Blind Item”! Ha, I’m sure we’ll hear a lot of Blind Items about her and her parents in the future.
My local paper says the name is Ivy Blue Carter but in any case, Congrats to mom, dad and surrogate! Btw my local news reporting the birth was ultra private and the entire 11th floor of Lenox Hill Hospital in NY was blocked off so doctors were complaining that they couldn’t attend to their other patients.
Just read on Just Jared that it’s Ivy Blue. And there’s reference to a tweet from Rihanna “Welcome to the world princess Carter! Love Aunty Rih” so it’s definitely a girl!

I don’t have a problem with a woman choosing not to have a baby, whatever her reasons. It’s not my place to judge, and I myself have chosen not to have children because the prospect of childbirth freaks me out. So, if it’s a vanity thing for Beyonce, that’s her business and her choice.
What I do have a problem with is the secrecy surrounding it. Not that a person isn’t entitled to their privacy, but she has handled this entire thing in such a sloppy manner that it only makes her look ridiculous. And yes, I wholeheartedly believe that she is faking the pregnancy. I just think that if you’re going to fake it, fake it right.

The detail about the baby having brown eyes is odd, isn’t it? All newborn babies have dark blue eyes for their first new months, don’t they? Or is that only for Caucasian babies? If it’s different for black babies, I guess Beyonce’s surrogate gave birth…
After a bit of googling the consensus seems to be that many babies, regardless of race, are born with dark blue eyes, but that some, again regardless of race, can also have very dark brown or even almost black eyes. But anyway, I’m still sure that it’s Beyonce and her surrogate, particularly because of the ambiguous wording in “The mother is resting comfortably, and the parents are thrilled” – it sounds like the mother is totally separate from the parents…

I agree, there’s a clear distinction between the two. But if they used a surrogate, she wouldn’t be the “mother.” Beyonce would be.
Now, here’s what I think: Let’s say that Jay-Z had an affair with a woman, and she ended up pregnant. And let’s say that B&J’s camp came up with the idea to pay this woman off and B can be pretend to be “pregnant” for the time being.. just to cover up J’s infidelity.. In that case, the woman would be the “mother” and B&J would be the “parents.”

This whole thing has made me absolutely disgusted by Beyonce and JayZ. What a couple of sad sacks, to lie to this extent just to keep one’s figure attractive and pretend to be “better” than other women who give birth and hold a little weight. I will never think of them in the same way again, and I hope one day they’ll be busted for this ridiculous charade.
That is exactly what bugs me most about this too. Look, if you don’t want to “ruin” your body, then just OWN it and ‘fess up to the fact you used a surrogate. But not only will she not come clean about it; she’ll keep up the charade and pretend that God blessed her with superhuman powers to drop 50 pounds of baby weight and not have a single pregnancy “souvenir” on her body. “I just worked REALLY hard.” It’s bull.

Then the line about last minute chatter about the gender. We know that Beyonce is expecting a girl (heck she may have even ordered a girl). and as far as I know Jen and Ben never announced the gender of their third child. I think only in the last months there have been some rumors that it is a boy (some article about a supposed insider revealing the nursery’s color being blue, and a recent article, that she is expecting a boy early 2012), but none of that as fas as I can tell has been officially confirmed by them.
Then the way the bay is referred to Casey….made me think of Casey Affleck. as for DJ…not sure…but TJ… could be a clue for TJ Miller, he was in a movie with Ben Affleck Extract (2009) and in Cloverfield directed by J.J. Abrams who did ALIAS.
And last but not least the “the parents are thrilled” line, well wasn’t that the line Ben and Jen used when they announced the pregnancy? saying they are thrilled.

And I know that the one sentence about the mother resting comfortable sounds like it could be a clue pointing to Beyonce and JayZ and the surrogate. On the other hand it could also mean that the mother is really doing what a mother should, rest and spend time with baby, instead of being out and about, which Beyonce has this past week.
I give you, I was back and forth between it being Ben and Jen or Beyonce, I just thought after all the Bey-watching the Baby is here Item, let a lone a BG exclusive one, would be written with more spice. No way is this Ben and Jen. They are obviously not using a surrogate and since Jen was photographed over the weekend running errands with her kids, she has not given birth.

I’m African (and unmixed if it matters) and except for having dark eyes I was totally indistinguishable from white babies when I was born. It took me almost a year to reach my full colouring.
You have no idea how genetics can play with baby-making.
I mentioned above how it takes months (and sometimes a couple of years) for melanin to kick in regarding black babies, so most black babies are born light-skinned.
Both Beyonce and Jay-Z being African-American, which means that both of them have a certain level of racial admixture (Jay-Z is probably somewhere near the African-American norm of being 80% black/20% other and Beyonce is probably around 50% black/50% other in genetic makeup). Thus, the child could fall into a wide range of complexions. The child could wind up as light as Beyonce’s mom or as dark as Beyonce’s dad. Sometimes a child will be a mixture of their parents, or occasionally a throwback to one of the grandparents. If Jay-Z and Beyonce have multiple children, expect a range of complexions among their children. That’s hardly uncommon in African-American families, even with folks who share the same mother and father.
I was just reading about B wearing 6 in heels and eating oysters on NYE. The heels are laughable enough for a woman who is days away from “giving birth”…but oysters? aren’t there health risks associated with them? She really had no desire to even put on a real “carrying a baby” performance. Sad souls.

I’m not sure that all the reports are correct. I googled it and some said that J was the one to eat oysters while beyonce ate fried chicken. Maybe the original source, for one reason or another, got it wrong or those that received the information, reported incorrectly. I mean, if bey bey actually did consume the food, that’s a pretty big public faux pas and I can’t imagine she’d be that ignorant.
Bey Bey will NEVER admit to this just as Janet Jackson will NEVER admit that she birthed and gave up a baby in 1985/86. I was one of the readers of the original National Enquirer that had the photo of her pregnant with DeBarge. The caption said she was pregnant, too.

“Light skinned” is a term a lot of black people use. For some ridiculous reason, the black community thinks there is a hierarchy based on how dark a black person’s skin is. Makes me sad…
Then again, as someone who has been told their skin is so white it gives off a glare, it is completely out of my place to comment on the matter. The point of my post is that a lot of black people use the term, meaning a lighter shade of brown.
Anyway, on to the more important things: how much is that surrogate being paid?!
Look, I’m not trying to start a fire here, but I don’t think that hiring a surrogate automatically makes Beyonce a bad person. She may very well be one, not saying she isn’t; but I don’t think it’s necessarily right to jump on her case just for this. I mean, at some point, the kid will grow up and read all of this stuff. Her motivations for hiring the surrogate may be selfish but Maybe she doesn’t want the kid to ever feel like she loved it any less because it didn’t grow in her body. Maybe that’s why she faked it. I don’t know, but it just seems really personal, to me. Like adopting and choosing not to tell the child it’s adopted. Fake pregnancy or not, I doubt Beyonce and Jay Z are gonna love it any less. Just my thoughts.

I have to comment on your post – being adopted myself, I have to say that adopting a child and not telling them they’re adopted is terrible. It’s worse than pretending you’re pregnant for publicity, but using a surrogate to not ruin your body.

As a fellow adoptee, I completely agree with you, Bromance. Not telling an adopted child they are adopted is horrible, with very long lasting ramifications as these things are almost always found out eventually by the child.
I agree. Lying about it is pretty crappy, and I don’t know why she would feel the need to pretend she was pregnant, but I don’t see the big deal about a surrogate. Her body might sound like a selfish reason, but when that is a huge part of her career and her livelihood, it stops being a ridiculous thought.

NO full term pregnant woman does that, you would lose your balance, you’re also slow and brace yourself before you do anything.
When I was 9 months, I would have needed 5 guys to lift me into an SUV. It probably took me a few minutes just to manage to get into a normal sized car.

Too many small details to mention besides her wearing high heals a day before giving birth (come on!!! I could hardly walk in flip flops weeks before giving birth to my children), the bump size inconsistency, the no weigh gain in the arms, face and neck (exhibit B,look at jessica simpson for a good example of what a pregnant woman looks like), the pillow folding over caught on video, etc.
All in all, I am very happy for her and her husband. I send Best Wishes to the family and new bundle of joy. I just dont like all this sporting a fake bump for publicity in order to promote herself and her baby clothing line. Look at Sarah Jessica Parker who admitted to her surrogate. Why can’t Beyonce? I am disgusted by their behavior, sick sick sick! I can not WAIT until they are discovered. I know it will probably never happen but wouldn’t that be wonderful. I don’t mean to be rude but every single pregnant woman is different, some women doesn’t even start showing until they’re seven months along so yes, that small bump could have been when she was five months.
That’s what people don’t seem to understand around here, since I’m going to assume that Beyonce is in good shape, she should have had some strong abdominal muscles which means she wouldn’t have started to show for months. If she wasn’t faking it, she also probably watched what she ate and didn’t just sit around and eat junk food for the entire pregnancy.

I think the Katie Holmes rumors were that the baby was born earlier than reported and not actually Tom’s — but I don’t think she was supposed to have faked the entire pregnancy.
So I know this is all Beyonce and Jay-z etc but I dunno – would you really fake a pregnancy to keep your figure? it just seems so farcical to me. And I always thought Beyonce comes across as very sensible in interviews – I find it hard to reconcile this crazy persona with her. Does no one else find this all a bit OTT?

Halloween party, Alice in Wonderland, Obama, Johnny Depp (he was there at the White House – as the Mad Hatter – BEFORE the movie came out). The Daily Mail (which is a U.K. paper/site but they have a U.S. version too) & Fox News has the story – also the NY Post. The director Tim Burton actually decorated the rooms for the party! The really disgusting part is they knew it would look bad if the press reported on the party, so it was all hush-hush. They even asked for & got the original Chewbacca prop from George Lucas!

I just saw an article on NY Daily news where a father claims that the whole charade of Beyonce and JayZ prevented him and his family from visiting his wife and recently born twin daughters in the Neo-natal Intensive Care Unit, because the unit is close by where B&J had rented and closed off the whole place. Security blocked him.
Terrible. I mean it is terrible enough if celebs get special treatment over normal parents, then if we believe the blind and the baby was really born by the surrogate during the week and not even on Saturday, its even worse, but really what tops it: its a Neo-Natal ICU! These people just have no respect and are selfish!

1.BeJay had the hospital cover up security cameras, putting every patient AND BABY on the fourth floor in danger
2.That those scheduled to have procedures at Lenox Hill’s maternity wing had to go to OTHER hospitals to get them done because the hospital is catering to BeJay’s EVERY whim.
3. That for those who’ve already had their babies, their families are unable to even VISIT or SEE the children because BeJay had the hospital staff shut down the ENTIRE FLOOR.

I was confused about this as well until I read an article announcing the birth. Beyonce was born Sept 4th, Jay-Z born on Dec 4, they married 4-4-08, and her newest album is titled “4″. Article also said they chose Ivy because 4 is IV in roman numerals.
Jay-Z’s b-day is on Dec 4, Bey’s is on Sept 4, her mom’s is on the 4th of something I think; their anniversary is on the 4th of something, and her latest album is “4″.

So technically if they did use a baby carrier, they’re not lying. The baby may well have been delivered naturally – just not from Beyonce.
I can see why they said that. How would they explain a missing C-section scar? It’s impossible to get rid of such a scar. No cream will do that for you – fading can only do so much. It will still always be visible. And especially on African skin, the scar is much harder to fade so it would be much more visible. So, of course, Bey had to say it was a natural delivery. Really don’t like this couple. They are so nasty.
