Kelly Ripa? Her and Mark have been married almost 16 years; pretty long in Hollywood. They both started on daytime soap. She also has won a couple Emmys, but not for doing soap operas.
The only reason why I don’t think it’s her is because Mark co-hosted Live! With Kelly this morning and they looked very much like a loving couple.

2. thought: Kyra Sedgwick and Kevin Bacon. Research confirms: she is 46, married since 1988! she was in the soap Another World, he was in Search for Tomorrow, She has an Emmy.

I think it is Kyra and Kevin. Kyra was on ANOTHER WORLD and Bacon was on SEARCH FOR TOMORROW. They are far MORE known as a long together couple than Ripa and hubby. And she was a 2010 Emmy winner.
I agree with your logic. I hope this is not true, they are such a great couple! However, there have been rumblings about problems in their marriage, and what with the financial strain of the whole Madoff debacle, it would not be too much of a surprise. If this is them, I certainly hope they can work things out.

The details are pretty limiting, and there don’t seem to be any other couples that fit. Maybe, in this case, “Hollywood” is just supposed to mean “celebrity”.
But Kyra and Kevin are a Hollywood couple bc they do movies. Kelly is a NYC morning talk show host. I wouldn’t consider her “hollywood” per se anymore than I would Matt Lauer.

Yeah Hollywood couple refers to acting versus famous for another reason aka sports couple, politics, business world, reality tv etc. I don’t think they mean “west coasters” or they would have said that particular geographical allusion. You hear Angie and Brad as a HOLLYWOOD couple and their home base in New Orleans. Ditto Gwnyneth is a Hollywood actress even though she lives in New York and London.

I don’t see why not wearing your wedding ring is such a big deal, there are so many reasons why you may not be wearing it that have got nothing to do with the state of the marriage.

yeah I don’t think of them as “Hollywood”. I don’t think they are that much on the radar to be Hollywood or one of the most liked. Not that they’re unliked just not popular enough for a remark like that.
I don’t see Kelly as going and hanging out solo with a group of guy friends either. She talks on the show everyday about what she does and it’s either moms night out or something with their kids schools that her and Mark both go to.
