Not to be a buzzkill (LOL), but weed is terrible for people with depression or any other mental illness. It just exacerbates it and it’s known to be an environmental trigger for Schizophrenia in people who are at risk for the disease.

Exactly. Like and scientific article stated, cannabis hurts some, helps others. It can kill or rescue neurons – children are at risk as it can have a negative effect on a developing brain, whereas adults may benefit.
Marijuana in appropriate doses can have a positive effect on PTSD, Agoraphobia, ED, major depression, mania, ADD/ADHD, Autism/Aspergers, night terrors, OCD, Bipolar Disorder, Panic Disorder, PMS, Schizoaffective Disorder, Delirium Tremens, sleep disorders, anxiety disorder, Dysthymic Disorder, Alzheimers, Trichotillomania – and even Schizophrenia. For some cannabis may be useful in ameliorating the symptoms of their condition/disorder, and/or reducing side effects of various medicines. Some may even be able to reduce or eliminate the use of these medicines all together.
That said, one should always be careful when using any kind of drugs/substances. There is always a risk, and to worsen or trigger a mental illness is certainly not desirable, nor a clever move.

It is terrible for people who have Schizophrenia as well. It is contraindicated with the meds they take. Weed can cause people with Schizophrenia to have psychotic episodes. It is really false what you are saying. And you are not a physician. Medicine is your “hobby”, right? Ben Stiller suffers from Bipolar Disorder Type 1. Jim Carrey also struggles with severe depression, which most likely also stems from the aforementioned disorder. “The crying clown” isn’t that unusual, ufortunately.
