[CDAN] This awards season is shaping up to be very interesting. One of my favorite closeted A list movie actresses, only seems to go for women when her relationships with men go sour. Well, after a recent breakup she found herself at an event and met this foreign born B list actress who you would recognize but would be hard pressed to put a name with the face. The foreign born actress has always said she has boyfriends but I don’t think anyone has actually ever seen one. Anyway, despite being slightly older than our A list actress, the two hit it off and have been spending a great deal of time with each other and try to spend three or four nights together a month. The interesting thing is that both have a good chance of being nominated for Academy Awards this year in the same category. I wonder how that will work out if one wins.
A list actress:
B list actress:
The movies they are in that are being nominated:

A list actress: Kirstin Dunst.
Second choice: Charlize Theron.
B list foreign actress:
Tilda Swinton.
Nominated Movies:
Melancholia and We Need to Talk about Kevin.
Doesn’t Tilda Swinton have a husband and a lover? She doesn’t seem like the kind of person who would ever be closeted about anything (to me anyway).
Yes, she does, and they all live in the same house together and are, by all accounts, perfectly happy.
I think that Tilda lives with her children very close to their father. I couldn’t find any reference to the father ever being a husband. And yes, she has a current man too.
Yeah, just a one-off lousey guess.
Don’t feel bad!!
It’s Sandra Bullock for the A list actress
and Janet McTeer for the foreign born B list actress.
Sandra’s film doesn’t come out until January. I don’t know what the cutoff for films is with the Academy Awards, but that just seems kind of late to me for a nod for 2011. ?
It’s being released in New York and L.A. in 2011 for the Oscars and goes wide in January. Not uncommon at all.
Much better guess than mine!
Tilda Swinton is married, and has a boyfriend. Dunst is not A list.
And Tilda could not be considered “slightly” older than Dunst.
Janet McTeer is a good guess, but what has Sandra Bullock done this year that would get her a nomination?
Sandra Bullock (Extremely loud….)
Janet McTeer (Albert Nobbs)
They are only a couple of years apart in age, and I don’t think Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close comes out until January, which wouldn’t make it eligible for this year’s awards season.
It opens wide in January, but it’s being released in New York and L.A. in 2011 to meet the awards cutoff.
Okay, their ages still rule them out though.
Category: Best Supporting Actress
Actress A: Sandra Bullock, for Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close
Actress B: Janet McTeer, for Albert Nobbs
Tilda Swinton has an Oscar, a husband and a boyfriend. She’s also fairly recognizable and probably would not hide bisexuality. I don’t think Charlize Theron works for Actress A because she’s also foreign-born, from South Africa. Kirsten Dunst will probably be nominated for Melancholia, but she’s not A-list.
I like this guess. I’m with you.
“Despite being slightly older, they hit it off…”
I know it only says slightly, but it’s hard to believe that they would have even mentioned age as a possible hurdle for two people who are 50 and 47. That’s really not an age difference at all.
I guess it could be referring to Sandra usually hooking up with younger men. Jesse, Ryan Gosling, etc
Michelle Williams in the Marilyn Monroe biopic for Actress A as an alternate guess.
God I hope so!
Sandra and?
I read on People.com today that Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close will contend for Best Picture this year:

Personally I don’t believe Sandra is anything but straight.
I’m with you. I find it very hard to believe she’s closeted.
Thirded. She doesn’t even begin to tingle my gaydar.
The release of Bullock’s movie seems the variable but ‘when her relationships with men go sour’ and FAVORITE both nod to her. She is extremely well-liked and she has had some high profile BOMBS in love including the Jesse James fiasco. There seems to be quite a lot of mention of her potential closeted status ala she and Ryan Reynolds in a faux-mance before. I think she could easily be a lesbian. Her whole America’s sweetheart thing that JJ’s nazi pics and affairs MESSED with (making for her to DUMP him and estrange herself IMMEDIATELY) could certainly potentially be tarnished by gay rumors (although I don’t think this way myself!)
Michelle Williams is an interesting second guess. Low-key, fairly private, well-liked amongst her peers, excellent movie role choices.
Like Outlineboy, I really just don’t see Sandra being a lesbian. I feel that the A lister is possibly Michelle Williams. As for the foreign born actress, I have no clue whatsoever!
It doesn’t have to be lesbian – bisexual works for me.
just out of curiosity, how many “A List” actresses are there really out there?
Off the top of my head, I would include (all movie…)
Julia Roberts
Sandra Bullock
Reese Witherspoone
Gwyneth Paltrow
Cate Blanchett
Meryl Streep
Jodie Foster
Helena Bonham Carter
Vanessa Redgrave
Susan Sarandon
Hillary Swank
Nicole Kidman
Angelina Jolie
Charlize Theron
Jennifer Aniston (ugh)
Kimberly Stewart (double ugh)
Emma Stone (maybe?)
Michelle Williams (maybe?)
Kiera Knightly
Drew Barrymore
Wynona Ryder (hopefully)
Annette Benning
Kate Winslet
Julian Moore
Cameron Diaz
Rachael McAdams (maybe)
Carey Mulligan (maybe)
Naomi Watts (maybe)
and, even though they are sort of TV now,
Glenn Close
Sally Field
There may be more here or there, but, this is just about it, don’t you think?
and I meant to include Dakota Fanning.
Kimberly Stewart is an A list actress? HUH? WTF? That is news to me.
And Ryder hasn’t been A list for a while now. Rachel McAdams and Carey Mulligan WAY above Wynona who has done little.
I bet she meant Kristen Stewart
I’d rather believe Kimberly Stewart…
Maybe it’s all of them and it is on big A -list dating pool.
I would also include Penelope Cruz, Natalie Portman and Scarlett Johansson (even if I don’t think it’s either of them)
yes, totally. hard to come up with the list off the top of my head.
and, ps, of course i meant kristen stewart
Sandra Bullock & Janet Mc Teer.
Charlize Theron & Kristen Stewart for something different.
And what would Stewart be nominated for, pray tell? Breaking Yawn?
Kirsten Dunst for ‘Melancholia’ and Noomi Rapace for ‘Girl with the Dragon Tattoo’. Noomi is Swedish and “slightly older” than Kirsten, I think by three years; Kirsten was recently quoted in ‘Lucky’ that she can’t find a guy to have kids with, which probably means whatever relationship she was in is over. What do you guys think?
I like this guess
Sandra doesn’t ping for me at all.
Kristen Stewart pings like hell but I don’t think the rest fits. The only romance news she’s had is with RPatz so the recent breakup and string of others doesn’t go.
I like the idea of Noomi Rapace, she could be nominated for Sherlock Holmes I suppose but would her role be big enough to be deemed supporting? Highly doubt it.
