What’s wrong with his intelligence and her looks? Gibson is a really good director and basically made his own career happen using a surfing movie as a springboard. I wouldn’t call him stupid so much as volatile and prone to substance abuse. So, the looks and smarts sort themselves out either way. Better to hope for her temperament and his business acumen!
Agreed: I think Jodi Foster is beautiful (I once bumped into her, literally, in a [straight] bar ~she’s teeny-tiny!). And although I think Gibson is a hateful a**, he certainly seems very bright.

I think Jodie Foster’s sons were fathered by her good friend Randy Stone.
That was the buzz when they were born. But the Gibson guess makes a lot of sense when you consider her loyalty to him. Also, Mel’s a religious fanatic, and they feel a duty to “go forth and multiply.”
I’m not meaning to be a grinch (it IS almost December…) but I think the ‘spunky’ in this case might be used as the slang term for semen. That said, this is a frustrating blind because of the lack of clues!!
What about Rob Reiner? It feels like it would need to be a hippie-ish type guy who has more than a token lesbian friend or two, and who doesn’t have to be in control of the kid (ie a David Crosby type). I think Eastwood, Gibson, and Beatty each seem like too much of a control freak to do this.

Rob Reiner has suffered from depression for years and years, I can’t see him agreeing to pass on his depressive genes. I never heard Penny Marshall being gay, she is old and sick right now – but not gay.
I’m going with George Clooney: actor/director, Oscar winner, age 50. Pretty genes by most people’s standards (I’ve never understood the appeal myself). Has never settled down, likely never will. Seems like the type. He’s generous with money; why not spunk?
George comes across as a) too self-centered and b) too into his guy friends (does he have any female friends other than Julia Roberts?) to help out any “lesbian friends”. Gorgeous and a waste to not reproduce, but I don’t think it’s him.
Jodie Foster’s kids have Russell Crowe DNA. Mel Gibson was a conservative Catholic at the time the Foster kids were conceived. He might have gay friends but he probably wouldn’t donate gametes back then.
