[CDAN] This married, aging A++ list director is one of the best known directors in the world. Everyone knows him. What they might not know is that he has been having an affair with an A list actress within her own country but probably a C list outside. The affair has spanned almost 20 years and while it used to be all about the sex and passion and may have even led to a child. Maybe the child is her husband’s and maybe it is our director’s child. In any event as out director has aged and the actress has gained much more international fame, the affair has evolved into more friendship then sex. Although, you know, it still does happen.
Spielberg and Embeth Davidtz from Schindlers list. Made in ’93 – that puts this at 18 years. She had kids. She was born in the States, but I don’t believe that is considered her home country.
I like this guess He is one of the directors that everybody knows. But you would think they would mention the movie BEING AMAZING
She spent part of her childhood in S. Africa, but she is still an American actress. Her roles are pretty much all in US-made movies, so I don’t think she’d be considered any more famous in another country than she is here…

No clue with Roman since he hasn’t done much directing, so don’t know who he may or may not have hung around with…plus he’s in exile somewhere in Europe so don’t know if he’d have much chance to hit on actresses.

Yep he has god-like status in France (where he has lived in exile for years in Paris currently married to the C list French actor and singer Emanuelle Seigner)and much of Europe. He’s prolific.

Everyone knows she would be nowhere without him. She was only popular in her country and gained some international fame in recent years. She has a son. And from this article is obvious that the director is now old, but not her. I believe they’ve started when she was real young though

As awesome as Almodovar is, it pains me to say that I don’t think he’s an A++ director, by American standards. Most people probably don’t know who he is unless they see a lot of foreign-language films. And Cruz, an Oscar winner, is absolutely not a C-lister.
Pedro Almodovar is openly gay, so I don’t think it’s him.
Ironically, he fits the Blind’s phrase “out director” (but I don’t think it’s him).
Maybe being openly gay has been a helpful way to hide an affair with a woman for twenty years.
Although I just re-read the whole blind and it seems HIGHLY unlikely that this fits.

I think the balloon is in relation to Dreamworks logo, which points to Spielberg (or am I mixing up who is involved in Dreamworks??).
As for the actress – I’ve got nothing.
The A++ distinction for directors is pretty slim. You’re talking Spielberg, Scorsese, Eastwood, Allen, Coppola and maybe Polanski. And per the blind, it’s someone older.
What about Coppola and Monica Bellucci? She was in Dracula in 1992, and besides that, they share the Italian connection. She’s definitely A-list in Italian cinema and has only been well known in the States since about 2003 when she was in The Matrix Reloaded. She has two girls with Vincent Cassel, one of which was born in 2010. A more recent birth could be the impetus for this item’s release.

I like the Coppola/Bellucci guess. Since she and Cassel (yum) have an open marriage I could see how the press hasn’t been hounding them. But really? Coppola instead of Cassel??? Really?
Spielberg and Capshaw just celebrated their 20th anniversary on Oct. 12, according to Wikipedia. Could be the reference to the balloon and the “20 years” in the article.

The Blind says ‘out director’ instead of ‘our director.’ The clue could be that, given it used t instead of r, the letter between those two is s, for Steven Spielberg.
I think it’s actually a typo and you’re reading far too much into it.

I just don’t think BG et al are that sloppy…this is their livelihood, and it’s just a paragraph of copy.
Warren Beatty and Isabelle Adjani? Balloon could symbolize a “talking balloon” – Beatty was in “Dick Tracy”.
They were an actual couple at one point though, so I don’t think this is them.

Although I’d say Woody Allen has A or A+ name recognition, I wouldn’t consider him an A+++ director. Only a handful of his movies have been genuine hits or have received critical acclaim (and he has one Oscar I think). Not that I think the others are necessarily more talented…just that they’ve had much greater success.
Oh Ginger…. while you make a good point, Woody will always be considered an A++++++ director at the very least on reputation alone. Even today every actor in H-wood wants to be in his movies.

Clint Eastwood was my first thought, he spent a good few years making Spaghetti westerns in Europe and speaks Italian, I could see him hooking up with an actress during his days there and still keeping it going but that was almost 45yrs ago. The director of this blind doesn’t sound quite that old maybe in his 60′s like Spielberg.
