[Buzzfoto] This starlet has a lot of siblings. The oldest sibling has a couple of kids and just recently lost their job. The starlet doesn’t have a ton of cash to throw around but is helping the older sibling (who is not famous) pay for medical insurance for the family. She doesn’t want anyone to know because some of her business dealings are with staunch Republicans, a rarity in H-town. 630

HUH? What the hell does someone’s political leanings have to do with helping out their own sister? Republicans or Democrats wouldn’t care, in fact they would probably want a “feel good” story like this family obviously caring a lot for each other. Buzz has really gone off the deep end this time.
I was wondering the same thing. I read it five times trying to figure out the connection.
I don’t get the political bit, either. Any chance it’s a key word or clue?
yeah… I think I’m a bit offended by the Republican dig there. What the startlet is doing is very admirable.
You’re not allowed to be a Republican in Hwood. It’s the kiss of death unless you’ve already got an established career.
Because Republicans are more likely to disagree with universal health care.
Sounds like these siblings would have benefited from it. So maybe the starlet doesn’t want people to know that her own family is being screwed over by a system which she is indirectly supporting via her business dealings with Republicans.
Or something.
This is quite comical. Not about the person losing their job, etc, but the fact that because she is Republican they don’t dare tell anyone. Hilarious! Wth does that have to do with ANYTHING?? Unless they are trying to imply you must be rich or come from a rich family to associate with Republicans….haha! Really????
I wasn’t sure either, unless Republican means “No health insurance? Too bad! Better not get sick.” I think it’s noble that she is helping to cover her sibling’s family insurance. She should be commended.
Mary Kate or Ashley Olsen? They have an older brother and one or two younger sisters. And they really haven’t done much as of work in movies, just fashion. I am probably wrong, they are probably loaded to the gills.
The blind says the starlet doesn’t have a ton of cash. The Olsen twins are richer than rich, so I think that rules them out. That said, I have no guess of my own.
Wouldn’t Republicans like the fact that the starlet is paying for health insurance instead of the sibling going on Medicaid and public assistance? I don’t really get this blind. She’s doing a good thing helping her family out.
It’s not the Olsens. They’re LOADED. The only starlet I can think of who doesn’t have a lot of cash to throw around is Lohan, but her siblings are all younger.
Good grief! Soooo, what’s the implication here…that being jobless and w/o health insurance is a liberal problem, and she doesn’t want to appear “too” liberal!?!?
Guessing: Julianne Hough
Ha ha! The girl who’s bearding so her brother can carry on an affair with her “boyfriend”? Yeah, she’s afraid of being liberal.
Regardless, I still think Ms Hough is a valid guess. It’s all about appearances, and we have no actual proof re her personal life, just gossip. She is the youngest of 5, her oldest sister is not famous, and she has 9 more step-siblings. As a wannabe country singer, I’d say that puts her squarely in the conservative camp.
with all that info, she does seem like a good guess
from wikipedia “Hough was born and raised in Sandy, Utah, a suburb of Salt Lake City, the last of five children in a Latter-day Saint (Mormon) family.[3][4][5] Her parents are Mari Anne (née Heaton) and Bruce Robert Hough, who was twice chairman of the Utah Republican Party.”
soooo the Republican connection is pretty clear
Are they trying to ‘out’ a young Republican? I just don’t get it.
The Olson twins are practically billionaires, they would most certainly be able to afford it. The blind mentions starlet as in just one. The picture makes me think that maybe its someone from a medical show perhaps? I looked up Ellen Pompeo on WiKipedia and it states that she has five siblings. It’s not really clear if she’s the oldest or not though…
What Repub would be against someone helping their own family member? This is a lame one.
Does Natalie Portman have siblings? I know she is an outspoken Democrat but dated a friend who was very senior in President George W Bush’s White House. She could have business dealings still through that relationship. Just a random guess.
She’s not really a starlet anymore, is she? And I’m assume she has plenty of cash since she’s been working forever.
Uh…I’D assume…long day…
Natalie is an only child.
I can’t think of a single starlet with enough siblings to classify as having “lots” except Miley Virus, but she would have tons of cash to burn.
Maybe the older sibling is gay…I have no clue.
I think what is being suggested is that our generous girl is either Republican or her friends are and since she is the bread winner and supporter of her family, she doesn’t want to jeopardize her earning potential. There are those who might discriminate against her for being politically in the minority.
That’s the way I read it too.
When they say starlet, it sounds like someone off a reality show? In any event a political party can shove it if they have a problem with helping out family.
Okay guys. The discrepancy here with the republicans is that they believe individuals should pay for their own health insurance (i.e., privatized health care)– so she would be frowned upon for providing for someone else’s health insurance (much like the government shouldn’t be providing for people who cannot afford it in the eyes of the republicans.)
Not quite, Lamar. The Right is fine with businesses providing their employees with health insurance or people buying it themselves. And to do that it has to be affordable to everyone. What they/we don’t support is government providing it for everyone across the board. That’s not the government’s role and they have no mandate in the Constitution to do so.
Like I said above, I think what she’s doing is very commendable and Republicans would have no problem with it at all. I think the blind is either poorly written or just way off base.
I wouldn’t say that. Republicans are against the government footing the bill for someone’s health insurance. In fact, having a real-life example of people helping each other out without the government forcing it would be something Republicans would applaud!
That being said, I don’t really understand why this starlet wouldn’t want to be outed as a Republican or a friend of Republicans, other than the fact that conservatives have been blackballed in Hollywood before…
So, if I have no job, no health insurance, need heart surgery, have no friends and relatives to put on a bake sale for me to raise money, I should write to a celebrity for help? Or just go home and die quietly?
If you really want to get into a political debate, I suppose we can. I visit BG as a welcomed break from the heavy stuff though.
To answer your question, my personal belief on that question (sarcastic though it may be) is that the government’s welfare programs should be a last resort/safety net for people exactly as you have just described. Though, I have to point out that hospitals don’t turn away people for their inability to pay. That’s the classic smoke and mirrors claim that Democrats like to tell, that all those poor, uninsured people out there will just DIE on the streets without the government-mandated insurance. Patently false.
“Though, I have to point out that hospitals don’t turn away people for their inability to pay.”
The Republican “smoke and mirrors claim” is that uninsured emergency room health care is the same as actually having comprehensive health insurance. Try telling this to someone with a chronic and or life-threatening condition (think cancer) who has no insurance and can’t be treated in an emergency room.
I suppose Republicans could interpret helping out a relative to be a form of socialism, since they generally can’t define socialism correctly.
As for the blind item, Julianne Hough?
I’ve never met a Republican who would define Socialism in that way… I’ve never met some of the dumber ones who like to flaunt themselves on tv though, so I can imagine there are those out there who would.
As I said before, people with no job, income, family assistance or insurance are the ones for whom the government programs should be reserved. I’m not heartless, I’m just a person who values freedom from government constraints.
So if “staunch Republicans” are such a rarity in Hollywood, wouldn’t she easily get other deals with more liberal business associates? Unless her main income is with a conservative company?
@bc Fami!y has that crazy a$$ Pat Robertson’s programs. Could she be from some @bc Fami!y show? Here’s what W!k!ped!a has to say about @bc Fami!y:
The network was founded in 1977 as an extension of televangelist Pat Robertson’s christian television ministry, and eventually evolved into The Family Channel by 1990. In 1998, it was sold to Fox Kids Worldwide Inc. and renamed Fox Family.[1][2] On October 24, 2001, Fox Family Worldwide Inc was sold to The Walt Disney Company. The sale to Disney included Saban Entertainment and Fox Family.[3][4] The channel generally offers programming aimed at a wide audience, but primarily features series and movies aimed at older teens and young adults (age 15-30).
Hate guessing her yet again, but Blake Lively’s older brother Jason Lively hasn’t had a film credit since the early 1990s so could be considered non-famous perhaps?
Oh I really like this guess…two of the older sibs are actors, but there are a few who aren’t…think there are 5 or 6 Lively sibs altogether.
Plus Blake wouldn’t be uber rich yet, and she’d better bank it bc It girls always fade.
Leighton Meester?
I liked this guess, but then I found she only has two brothers, which I don’t think qualifies as “a lot of siblings.” That said, I am drawing a blank.
Juilian Hough!!
I don’t think she wants anyone to know because she could show sympathy for the democratic side wanting across the board health care.
Glad I am Canadian and I didn’t have to worry about paying for the 3 lung surgeries my son had in the past 4.5 years.
Heck this could be any c list celeb with a lot of siblings! If she doesn’t have much money than she probably isn’t that famous.
SJP? I know she sounds liberal….and has a lot of brothers and sisters….
What kind of business dealings? That’s what I want to know.
