They were the first ones who sprang to mind- and how great would that be? But the two of them did get together in the last season of the show and were still together in the last movie. They even had a baby together, so I don’t see how it could be them. She was also critically acclaimed for Bleak House and I believe won an Emmy for it, so I wouldn’t say she only had one big role.

Technically, it’s unclear whether Scully and Mulder ever really “got together.”
Except for maybe that episode where Scully gets dressed in his bathroom and leaves Mulder’s apartment where he’s naked (to the eye) in bed. But maybe they were just spooning : )
They were together. They fled the FBI together after their baby had been adopted and took off together. The last scene of the series was the two of them in bed. In the last movie they had been living together ever since that time.
That would be more than just a fantasy,it would be a miracle, since Duchovny and Anderson didn’t get along when they were working together. Toward the end of the x-files series they couldn’t stand to be around one another.

I’m huge X File fan as well. Gillian’s divorce was finalized right before 94/95 Emmys. David actually took Gillian as a his date, and they were apparently really cozy the whole night. And there was some speculation that they might have slept with each other during that time. Duchovny was very much a diva during season 4, and when he and Leoni had their whirlwind relaysh. The clues only fit if you change all of them a lot and the biggest one is that they don’t even live in the same country – seeing each other once in awhile doesn’t count.

@Emma What I always heard was that Leoni and Duchovny had was a troubled marriage for the last five years mostly due to his cheating with mutiple women. Personally, I never thought they would make it but that doesn’t make the Anderson Duchovny thing anymore real if he couldn’t make his marriage work.
Problem is that people who believe this cannot prove anything other than their interpretations of what they want to see. If Duchovny had at least once been seen in London and the person didn’t recant their story – this might be more plausible.

1) Anderson is not married.
2) Duchovny is not married, not even “kinda.”

4) Assume it! As much as I love Gillian Anderson I have to admit that in the USA she’s still best known as agent Dana Scully. Check her interviews! Gillian herself has said several times that she loves working in London because she didn’t get that chance in the USA to play different roles besides Dana Scully.

3) The huge role refers to Scully because in Entertainment World she has NO OTHER IMPORTANT role. UK doesn’t count here. Just check her interviews. She keeps on being asked about Scully and X-Files.
4) It’s logical. If she only has one huge role and fans want her to be together in real life with her co-star it MUST be referring to a COMMON FAMOUS SHOW with COMMON FANS. 2+2=4. Sometimes you have to infer clues from the context.
