[CDAN] This one is painful to write. It happens all the time though so I guess should not be surprised. This couple seems like they have the perfect marriage. Everything is always so great to the outside world, but inside, the couple is having some serious issues. Our actor is very good looking. B- list. Does television and movies and modeling. Always a smile on the face. Our actress does a little bit of everything. She actually has a chance at some point of pulling off an EGOT. They are married and have child/ren, however, our actor has been sleeping with a production assistant on his show and his wife has no clue. This would absolutely crush her and will make huge headlines if this comes out, no so much because of the level of their fame, but just because of the perfect couple image that is always presented to the world.
Hoping it’s not my favorites, Taye Diggs and Idina Menzel.

Taye and Idina seem a good guess but unless you’re into Broadway, which I’m not, I don’t know if they reach that “level of fame” and “perfect couple image” the blind mentions. I never heard of her until she appeared on Glee and someone told me who she was. He’s barely on the radar for acting. The blind sounds like a much more popular couple.

Much as I wouldn’t like this blind to be them either….Mark is not a B- actor, more like D and maybe C for name recognition…and Kelly would never be an EGOT. Unfortunately not coming up with many other suspects than Idina and Taye.
It would help to think of more Broadway actresses, as famous ones who would fit the clues (and have a famous spouse) would be few and far between.
I think Taye Diggs & Idina Menzel. The word perfect is used in the title as well as twice in the blind. It is a popular song on “Wicked.” They played love interests Elphaba & Fiyero in this musical. Sad.

Taye and Idina are like the Brangelina of the theatre world. They exude the perfect couple vibe to everyone. Just because they aren’t famous to you doesn’t mean that they aren’t famous in other sectors. If they broke up, it would def. hit hard to their huge fanbase (and Idina’s fanbase is HUGE)
You know, I read it again a couple of more times and I’m changing my mind. The blind isn’t saying it would be a world wide scandal. You could very well read it to say it would rock the world they are a huge part of, which is Broadway/Theatre. Again, this is not a huge couple in the general entertainment world…. but the blind really isn’t saying that.
That being said, Taye and Idina do fit the blind. If true, this would really kill all the Gleeks out there.

This is definitely supposed to be Taye Diggs and Idina Menzel. The only thing that doesn’t fit is “his wife has no clue and would be crushed.” I don’t believe for a second that Idina doesn’t know what’s up with Taye, but maybe we should read this as “she doesn’t know about his cheating with this assistant.”
The way it’s written, neither are hugely famous in their own right, but if they were to split up, it would definitely make the entertainment section headlines. Taye and Idina, especially Idina, are huge in the theater world. The EGOT reference is meant to clue us in that she has the chops to win these kinds of awards; it’s true. Idina already has an Tony for Wicked and if they’re making a movie version, she could be nominated for an Oscar. She has released an album or two (Grammy) and she acts on television (Emmy). If they write her character correctly, there’s real potential for her to win for guesting on Glee.
BTW, calling Taye B- list is pretty generous. He’s pretty, but that’s about it.
That’s something that always bugs me about blinds like this… How are we supposed to believe that some gossip columnist knows something about a marriage that one of the spouses doesn’t? It just doesn’t seem logical or possible.
I think you’re being overly generous to Idina as well with those award potentials… which is one of the reasons I’m not totally convinced it’s them, along with the Taye rating. Unless of course the blind writer is over-selling their talents on his/her own.
I think there is overselling in all descriptions in all blinds in order to achieve some misdirection, which is basically what all gossip columnists do to avoid libel suits. IMO.

Idina and Taye sounds most viable. Maybe Idina just refuses to see bad in him? They’ve been together since the premiere of Rent – that’s a LONG time. Both did the Rent film; both do TV; Broadway action, check; and Idina has multiple CDs (the latest is pretty good).
for something different Liev Schreiber/Naomi Watts. It pains me to say but he’s apparently just been caught cheating with an assistant/body double during filming. If it’s not this blind it could be the other one about the guy waiting for the acress in her trailer. Liev and Naomi have children and say they are married sometimes and sometimes they say they aren’t so who knows.
