I go with ASkars! (aka Eric), or the actor who plays Lafayette on the show.
I know a lot are saying Alex, but I don’t think it’s going to be him. Some are saying Ryan Kwanten, but, I don’t think it’s him either. I think its going to be from one of HBOs big shows so that would be what? True Blood, Boardwalk, Entourage, Gamoe of Thornes, and Camelot?
Camelot isn’t HBO, it’s Starz, I think. I think it’s someone from a more established series (True Blood or Entourage, for example). Game of Thrones is gaining in popularity, but other than Sean Bean, there aren’t really any “big names” from it yet.
I like your optimism of thinking it will be from a big show and a big name. Being the pessimist I am, I’m expecting to say “Who?” when it is announced.
I agree. It’s probably no one. Every time they make such a huge deal about this and I’m like “who?” when it’s announced. If it’s ASkars I’ll be shocked that he finally came out although it will make that Kate chick whos bearding for him look stupid.

I recently went to his site out of curiosity. I noticed they’ve omitted the comments section. Don’t know when this occurred because I haven’t visited in years but I thought it was a really smart move. When I left, it had degenerated into a Perez hate fest. I know this is one of the sites BG <3 gets info from so I mean no disrespect so I'm just stating the facts. But uh…okay, one thing I will say: poetic justice is always nice to witness.

Just for the sake of something different, i’ll say Emmanuelle Chriqui from Entourage. there is an incredibly sexy girl on girl lapdance short from the Electra Luxx movie she was in… not that the acting as a lesbian is at all relevant to her real sexuality, but it was quite a sexually charged dance in my mind.
I’ve actually heard rumors she is gay. Good guess.

I have no problem believing that either Ryan Kwanten or Alexander Skarsgård are gay, but True Blood is their first US (internationally) recognized roles, so would they really be bold enough to come out so soon?
So it is either going to be a “seasoned” actor or someone who frequently guests on HBO shows, but not one of their younger stars.

With so many ‘blinds’ hinting that many of these young hunks, appearing in present or recent tv series/movies, as being gay, you females will be mashing your ‘pearls’ no end in your agnst in having your fantasies crushed! But there is another side of this ‘coin’ that causes those of us in the other ‘camp’ to ‘mash’our teeth;IT’S when str8? guys play a gay character!(They proclaim they are str8 and took the part because of the ‘challenge>’). (Of course my gaydar went off the screen when they buddied up to their love interest!). Well, girls, you lose some, but, hey! maybe those who claim they are str8, ARE! (that is until they appear on some talk show and come OUT).lol
The fact that most women think that the vast majority of performers are straight in the first place, is rather demented.
The performance gene is more prevalent in queers, and the straight people make up their numbers based purely on the fact that there are so many more of them.
So while only ten to twenty percent of the general population is queer, I would estimate that at least forty percent of the performance population is queer.
You are way off. I sent my daughter to performaning arts school and she told me that it was the next best thing to sending her to an all girls school. Not every gay man is “out there.” They just go about their business being a homo instead of a hetero, and that’s just fine with everyone. My daughter doesn’t go around telling everyone she’s straight, and these kids don’t go around telling everyone they are gay. I think in the performing arts, one out of 50 are straight.
When Ted Casablanca said that 90% of the males in H-wood are gay a year ago, I decided to trot out the list of the last 10 Academy Award Winners for Best Actor:
Colin Firth, Jeff Bridges, Sean Penn, Jamie Foxx, Philip Seymour Hoffmann, Forest Whittaker, Daniel Day-Lewis, Adrien Brody, Denzel Washington, and Russell Crowe (gets added in to make 10 b/c Penn won twice in the last decade).
I happen to have met Firth. He’s straight and known to be so (last year I mentioned Jeff Bridges, widely acknowledged as straight). Who wants to be the person that informs Crowe, Day-Lewis or Penn that they have to be gay to fit the 90/10 theory? Not I!
Honestly, in the performing arts the split is generally closer to 70/30 gay to straight MEN. I wouldn’t be surprised if the ratio was higher gay to straight in performing arts schools. But of those who make a successful living at it, it seems to skew 70/30 (although the above list does not and neither do the overall lists for the Oscars; check Best Supporting over the last 10 years as well).
I point this out not because I’m bothered by it but because in all cases people generally see what they want to see until they are faced with facts.
Original Poster: I could give a rat’s behind about what orientation someone is when s/he is playing a part so long as I find the acting believable. Saw David Hyde Pierce on Broadway and believed he was falling in love with the girl. Made me happy because I loved the *performance*. What he does on his own time (other than going to Tea and Sympathy because it’s awesome) need not get in the way of the moment in the performance. So if Sean Penn “plays” gay and I believe him, great! If he “plays” straight and I believe him, fantastic! It’s about making me believe, about all of us buying the performance, not the person.
So if this is a True Blood guy, kudos. Or anyone for that matter. Mazel Tov. Just as long as the performances are good, we ALL will keep watching.
LMFAO – when are they going to learn that just because that want someone to be ‘gay’ or ‘straight’ it isn’t gonna happen – FYI out of those I studied with only 2 preferred their own sex with 9 saying they were/are bi… we were a group of 18 performance arts students…the vast majority of peformers/actors are bi – with a preference for one sex (and not always for those gossip columnists would like – or even BG fans)
No one should ever be outed, I don’t care who it is, that’s a very personal decision and Ted C. and Perez are unethical losers for the damage they inflict. You say women’s fantasies will be crushed but I don’t think so, a fantasy is just that, fantasy. Women can turn homosexuality or bisexuality into quite a satisfying fantasy. If either of the True Blood hunks were to come out I think the impact on their fanbase would be minimal. Ryan and Alex are both great actors and their talent would far outweigh the effect of their personal sexual preferences in the long run.
So when is this announcement to be made? Is there any info as to whether this is someone from a current or past HBO series? Male or Female? I’m so hoping it’s Ryan Kwanten.

I’m assuming that it’s a current HBO actor. Usually actors go on to other things and aren’t usually labelled a {insert network here] actor forever. I don’t know any of the other shows, but here’s my break down of the True Blood actors.
I don’t think it’s Alex Skarsgard. One, it’d blindside me and make me cry & two, that sex scene with Theo Alexander last season on TB was so not believable. I don’t think he’s a good enough actor to pretend to be that unconvincing to throw people off to think he’s actually not gay. I’m sorry if that didn’t make sense, but it makes sense in my head. Same goes for Nelsan Ellis and Sam Trammell, who is having twin boys later this year. Ryan Kwanten I could see. As for the ladies, Deborah Ann Woll, nope. She has a long term boyfriend who she does a lot of charity work because he and his family suffer from choroideremia. Rutina Wesley is married, Kristen Bauer van Straten is married (although I get the gay vibe from her husband)…and there really isn’t anyone else that is considered a “star” on that show. Unless if he’s meaning “star” in the sense that everyone who has a credit is a star, isn’t that term so loosely used now a days?
I think it could be Sam Trammell. Is there a baby mama (as opposed to a surrogate)?
I didn’t include Anna Paquin or Stephen Moyer since they are married to each other. And it wouldn’t be a surprise for Anna because she’s come out as bisexual.
Some actor on twitter said that Ryan Kwanten is not gay.
I just had a thought… what IF, because he’s done something like this before, just to get hits on his site, which always has link errors and spelling mistakes these days, and the interviews – omg I can’t even listen to his voice. I’m now of the opinion this is about one of the True Blood characters having a same sex affair, not about an actor coming out. I think Perez deliberately misstated the blind to generate traffic. I’m glad I didn’t visit his site.
