BlindGossip – When this famous director dropped out of a high-profile project, there was some speculation that it was due to personal rather than professional reasons. He had broken up with an actress last year, and it was believed that each was taking time off from work to battle over the custody of their child/ren. What isn’t public knowledge is that their breakup was due in large part to his affair with another actress… who became pregnant with his baby. Why do I prefer the idea that Darren is the father of Natalie’s child, vs. that yucky guy Millepied? I guess I just can’t stand that guy… Also, keep in mind that it’s rumored that Rachel and Daniel Craig are an item, so maybe there was cheating on both sides. The question is: will Natalie end up with Darren later on?

lol, I thought I was the only one that wished they would just come out and get on with it. Millepied does come off kinda slimey. Not that anyone is squeaky clean at all in this case.

As for the actress – I’ll guess Evangeline Lilly. She was all hush-hush at first about whether she was pregnant or not. Now she claims the baby daddy is some production assistant on Lost.
But the real question is why in this day and age are these people still going around having unprotected sex??
I know, right? Hollywood has all the means to prevent pregnancy, and a surprising number of unplanned pregnancies (and STDs) STILL occur. It’s like they are the poster children for irresponsible sexual health. You know? We want teenage America to take responsibility for using protection, and freaking Natalie Portman, who’s supposedly Ivy League-educated, can’t even do it. I can understand not wanting to take hormonal birth control, but jeebus, get an copper IUD.
Pregnancy isn’t the fault of the woman, nor is it her sole responsibility to prevent. The guy could just wear protection and reduce the chance of pregnancy by 99%. A lot of women don’t take hormonal birth control because of unwanted side effects, and copper IUDs can cause allergic reactions. Natalie may be Ivy League educated, but that doesn’t mean she’s immune to BC side effects. You don’t know anything about her situation to judge.
I dont think anyone was saying that it is completely a woman’s responsibility to prevent pregnancy but the point is that no matter her allergies or any particular situation there are numerous ways to prevent “accidents”. She is Ivy League educated so she should know better than to have unprotected sex with a married man without some form of protection. There are morning after pills, IUD’s, condoms, pills, spermicides…endless possibilities. Unless she purposely got pregnant, there are ZERO excuses for any two adults to procreate unless they want to. That responsibility is shared, but still. As a woman, I do feel that most of responsibility falls on the woman because its YOUR body that will have to carry a baby, and biologically and legally you will be the primary care giver. I can certainly judge her on that, no matter who the father is.

The clues say the director and actress “broke up”, not “divorced” or divorcing. Unlike Sam Mendes and Kate Winslet, Aronofsky and Weisz were together for 9 years but were not married. They broke up last year around November. It was widely reported that he left The Wolverine due to child custody issues over their young son.
And let’s not forget the countless blinds recently with clues that point to Portman’s pregnancy and Aronofsky’s involvement.
Also the Mendes/Winslet split happened in March. Hardly ‘late’ last year.

And I also agree that they went with the Millepied story to protect Portman’s Oscar chances. Messing around with an involved man with young kids is kind of bad press there. I also always thought she laid it on too thick (“He really does want to sleep with me!”). There’ve been other blinds about them, too: the actress sitting between her boyfriend and her director she was having an affair with, a pregnant actress who was planning to ditch her boyfriend in the spring, etc.

Yeah, that’s what’s funny. I can’t figure out if Millepied is 100% a beard or if they were actually seeing each other. The blind makes it seem like there’s no question as to who the father is (the director). So either Millepied’s going along in exchange for … something, the paternity isn’t as clear-cut as the blind suggests (it could be the director OR the boyfriend) or he’s just a chump.
I think Millepied did it for the fame. They can break up, and he will always be known as ‘Natalie Portman’s Baby Daddy.’
He does have talent & respect in the ballet world, but that kind of name recognition can help secure his future.
