This Blind takes place on the set of a period piece made within the last couple of years. Two female characters, both well known names. After a long day of shooting, one of the stars (who had been drinking throughout the day) got careless with her cigarette and set fire to a very expensive dress. She managed to put out the flames and took the dress to her costar’s trailer (who is also a smoker). She set up the scene to look like the costar was the one who had burned the dress and the production company was very upset with the actress. To this day, the costar thinks she was responsible for the debacle, but we know better! 420

The only thing that jumped out at me was “The Other Boleyn Girl” with Natalie Portman and Scarlett Johanssen…. although I can’t imagine either doing such a thing. They both seem like true professionals.
i was thinking the same thing!!
I hear SJ is a *.I’d totally think it was her.
not sure if she still does, but scarlett used to smoke. not sure how she could pin it on natalie though because im pretty sure she has never been a smoker. unless she had candles around or something, how would a non-smoker set a dress on fire?
Does Natalie Portman smoke?
Yeah, I agree. It either Natalie and
Scarlett from “The other Boleyn girl”,or someone from “The Duchess”
Do Natalie and Scarlett both smoke, though? I don’t know of either one of them smoking… they both seem like they wouldn’t be smokers. They’re so pretty and they both seem to glow with health.
scarlette smokes I think
I sort of agree with you. I can’t see Natalie smoking, although I think Scarlett does. But then again, I’ve seen beautiful actresses who don’t look like they would ever be into smoking or smoked a day in their lives, who I ended up finding out later actually did smoke. When you have that kind of money, I guess you can buy your health in a sense.
Scarlett does smoke.
Natalie is a smoker too. Check Google and you’ll find a few pics.
At 27 I was a smoker and social drinker and I was a physical powerhouse. I quit smoking 20 yrs ago and hardly drink and now feel like sh$t. So go figure. Sometimes a happy life can wash away a few vices.
happiness? nah, id chalk that up to being under 30
LOL yes, you’re just getting old (and I mean this in the best possible way!)
http://www.starsmoke.com/celeb/nportman1.jpg – yup, natalie smokes.
Meryl Streep and Jane Lynch (with Meryl being the naughty one), on Julie and Julia.
IDK, but I find this scenario amusing.
Nah. You might want to look up what a period piece is.
Betty White and Sandra Bullock (with Betty being the chimney) on “The Proposal”, with the wedding dress.
(sigh)
Define period piece. I mean, this could also be a movie set in the 1940s or something, right? I think we may have to go at this from another angle and determine which leading ladies like their Joe Camel.
Zellweger & Kidman on COLD MOUNTAIN?
Wasn’t made in the “last couple of years” …
Has to be! Who else! Solved!
was there any expensive dresses in Cold Mountain? I thought they wore jeans and cowboy boots the entire time since they were country women!
Kidman spent the first hour of that film in gorgeous attire as a pampered girl.
I guess Renee Zellweger and another costar, namely Catherine Zeta-Jones instead, for “Chicago.” Those costumes for both ladies surely were expensive. Do either or both smoke?
Chicago was filmed way back in 2002. Don’t know about Zeta-Jones but Zellweger definitely doesn’t smoke. Plus I’d doubt that anyone on that set would have time to sit around drinking all day. lol
Sienna Miller and Keira Knightley on the set of The Edge of Love?
That was my thought, too.
Both smoke.
It’s kind of an amusing visual to imagine Kiera being the smoker sneaking the dress into a drunk-out-of-her-mind Sienna’s trailer/dressing room.
But her’s a practical question: wouldn’t the studio know which actress wore which dress?
Good point, ama.
Admittedly, I don’t know much about the ins and outs of Hollywood, but why would one actor’s dress end up in the trailer of another actor?
The only thing I can think of is that the smoking actress wasn’t wearing the dress when it caught fire, and that it wasn’t her costume to begin with.
Still seems strange, though.
I understood it as the actress having burnt a random dress, not the dress she was supposed to wear in the movie.
yup yup!
Helena Bonham Carter. The film being “The King’s Speech”
and who is the other actress? Helena is a smoker, and a notoriously awful human being (heard from people I know who worked with her.) Wouldn’t be a surprise.
She’s a bit strange anyway. Bless her heart.
Yes. There’s a reason why she’s Hollywood’s go-to “crazy” character.
Period piece? Do we mean movie or tv period piece. If any one of those I say Mad Men.
the blind says two female characters with well known names. this leads me to believe the roles being portrayed are based on real people.
Are trailers only on movie sets? And not tv sets?
TV actors have trailers as well, I believe.
Other movies that came out recently that are period pieces are Victoria (Emily Blunt) and Bright Star (Abbie Cornish).
I could totally see Emily Blunt doing this to a co-star.
there are no other female leads in Victoria though. How old is Marie Antoinette? I could see the Dunster doing it..she’s a smoker, right?
what do the numbers mean at the end of these blinds?
buzzfoto numbers their BIs…
Mad men – Christina Hendricks and January Jones.
I agree with Scarlett and Natalie, only I think Natalie was the one who wrecked the dress.
keira knightly and carey mulligan in pride and prejudice
They were in “Never Let Me Go” together, Not P&P. Either way, I could see Keira Knightly doing this.
Actually, they were in P&P (2005) as well.
You’re right, my bad!
I thought of this couple for the Never Let Me Go movie as well.
What did the numbers mean @ the end of this blind?!?! 420–are you serious?!? This is someone who smokes…not cigarettes
It’s from the source of the blind. That site always numbers theirs.
The two lead actresses off gossip girl, Leighton Meister and Blake Lively?
pfft scrap that-didnt read the period piece bit.
Kirsten Dunst and Rose Byrne in Marie Antoinette? Kirsten for the all-day tippler. The movie was released in 2006.
yes! my thoughts exactly!
How does 2006 constitute “made within the last couple of years?” If it was released in 2006 it was probably made in 2005. Seems too long ago to fit.
However, having said that, I do think it’s probably talking about a movie that takes place in the 17th or 16th century when women wore elaborate dresses that would actually be rather expensive.
But, I recently saw a display at a local museum of a travelling collection of costumes from famous movies and I was shocked that up close many of them looked like they were made of really cheap material (and many of them were). What looks good on the screen doesn’t always look good IRL. So that makes me wonder if we are talking about a movie where they used real vintage pieces or something that would make them actually valuable and not pieces of junk.
Hello BG! First time poster! Love this site to pieces! _ Someone mentioned 420, that means marijuana. Also I agree with some of the other posters about the dresses. There’s no reason an actresses dress would be in another performers trailer. The wardrobe department has their own trailor where it houses all the clothing until its time to be worn. My guess is that maybe the actresses wore the same dress in the movie and they had to share it around the same time. Just a thought………
Welcome, Sissy! The numbers at the end of a BuzzFoto post are just an internal BuzzFoto reference. You can ignore them. Love, BG
But I don’t see numbers at the end of any other posts! I was hoping the item was posted at 4:20 and you just had to point it out really quickly at the end.
pride and prejudice- keira knightley who is a smoker and carey mulligan -I think BG chose this because carey is in the news lately because of wall st 2
I think Cynicat got it! Kirsten “Drunk”st in Marie Antoinette!
