LaineyGossip – When you don’t eat, when you deprive your body of essential nutrients, it reacts in ways to protect itself. One of the side effects of excessive thinnification is the fuzzy hair growth, a soft downy layer as the body tries to keep itself warm. And often times on the face. Since food is not a regular part of her life, the thinnification hair on her face is naturally dark. They do a marvellous job of hiding it though – by bleaching and strategic photography and of course foundation, although it’s getting harder and harder to hide. And as a result she’s just lost a part because of it. The director loved her, he just didn’t want to go to such great lengths to camouflage her problem.

Yes, but the hair that anorexics and bulimics get is coarser and thicker than normal peach fuzz. Having been acquainted with a 5’8″ person who let herself get down to 90 pounds, I can attest that it’s very noticeable.

I do like the Lea Michelle guess. She’s done a tremendous skinny-down in the last few months, and with her darker palette, she would be a better candidate than Keira or Kate. However, the blind doesn’t mention a “recent” thinification, so I think it’s someone with ongoing eating problems, and when you throwin the fact that it’s Lainey, who has a (legit) hate-on for Kate Bosworth since way-back-when…

Kate Boswort has fair skin: the facial hair can’t be too dark. I know it because my skin is pretty fair too, and I am a little hairy. But not skinny
However, Kate was way too thin.

Nice pic. Agreed, esp since Lainey posted a lovely article ’bout SJP’s hair looking fabulous for the paps. And, “essential nutrients” and “great lengths” sound like advert copy for hair product like Garnier, which SJP has a contract with.
I can’t imagine that someone with a eating disorder would have a full healthy head of hair. Wouldn’t SJP’s hair be thinning if it was her?

Lanugo is the medical term for that. I remember a girl in my college that had it. Her skin was translucent and she had soft, blond hair all over. She was a blond. So it makes me think the person in question is darker haired. That girl from Glee pops in my head.

Possible, the lost role in Gravity. She had been rumored up for the role for months and then rumored to have turned it down due to unmet salary demands. All of her photos show her to be extremely thin, with her extensions removed, thinning hair which I thought was another symptom of poor diet.
My guesses are Tori Spelling (natural dark brunette and alarmingly thin), Jessica Alba (who is super thin and less cruvy as of late) or Lea Michele (same as Alba).

I doubt Tori is getting turned down because of being hairy. More like because she’s talentless.
That said, she and her husband just contracted to do another reality show.
Have lurked for some time, having discovered this a few weeks ago. Find it all incredibly interesting. First time poster.
I think there’s something to this Jessica Alba theory and am surprised others haven’t hopped on top of it…and I’m not just saying that because I dislike her and would love for it to be true.
1) She is of Latina descent (specifically Mexican), which would make her natural hair very dark. Mexican women tend to have thick, coarse, dark hair to begin with and it wouldn’t surprise me if she was naturally a hairy girl. Add the malnourishment, and you’ve got a serious hair problem. Bingo.
2) Strategic photography? Her photo shoots always look amazing, while her candid shots are significantly less flattering. Good lighting and Photoshop are this girl’s best friend.
3) She has lost quite a bit of weight after having her daughter, hitting the point of being nearly skeletal. It’s like her body lost youthfulness/perkiness after childbirth (also because of natural aging), and she’s trying to cover it up by losing a lot of weight to hide the flab/sag. She ends up just looking drawn and frail. It’s clear she’s making an active effort to lose weight.
4) “and of course foundation” – She’s a spokesgirl for Revlon, frequently hawking things such as foundation. That seems a somewhat obvious reference.
Multiple uses of the word “thinnification”–can anyone figure out if that’s a reference to something specific?

You know, I saw Machete and JA was rail thin. I was watching it thinking “I thought people referred to Alba as curvy? This girl could turn sideways and disappear.”

Oh good grief. I have always been naturally “furry”. Even my husband says that I’m “model furry”. And I am by no means underweight and starving myself. Some people just have light, downy fur.

I am not starving, but I do have some slight “fur” hahha its fuzz and it stands up when I am cold! LOL
It’s true that almost everyone has a bit of “fur” all over their bodies, but anorexia causes an extreme case of hair growth. I had 2 friends who were anorexic and they both developed it. It definitely looks different and way more pronounced than normal peach fuzz, and if they are naturally dark-haired, it will certainly stand out. It’s sad, because anorexia is such an awful disease that causes many other problems on top of malnutrition, like heart disease and reproductive issues.
I’m naturally dark too..hair, eyes, skin…and did electrolysis in college. In high school, I got down to 90 lbs (I’m tall) and the hair was different….very, very different…it will look like an actual beard. My skin was paler from the lack of nutrients (I ate only vegetables most days…it was an odd, vegan, lose 10 lbs thing.. and I went overboard. There were some family issues at the time and one of my siblings ended up going to a guidance counselor about it, and then I got help. You don’t even realize how warped your world is..it’s probably like depression. But, I was very, very aware of the hair issue. It isn’t peach fuzz, it isn’t a uni brow (my brother’s nick name for me), it isn’t a hairy upper lip…it’s a LOT of hair…you end up with 5 o’clock shadows a couple of hours after shaving…

First time poster because I HAD to give my 2 cents on this one….HAS to be the girl from vampire diaries. If you watch the first season she is always in tanks and you ccan see the outrageious amount of peachfuzz all over her shoulders and upper body….but her face appears fine (or at least “taken care of”)..so she’s my guess.
