The Abusive Producer

NewYorkPost – Which local TV news producer is so abusive to her underlings they made a formal complaint to the station’s human resources department? Now a monitor from HR sits in at every production meeting.

First poster? How about Lisa Soloway?

Don’t know — but I’m glad an HR rep sits there now.
I’ve gone to HR in the past with a complaint about a top company person and wasn’t given any satisfaction. So common. :-(

I know from experience that this is more common than not. I once saved a producers job and she turned around and treated me like I was an idiot.

And nothing will come from going to human resources. HR does not care if someone important does something wrong unless you threaten them with a lawsuit. That’s the only way to get anything done.

      Wow that’s crazy. :-(

Human Resources in every company isn’t there to protect employees, it’s to protect the company. Anyone who’s ever been a manager has probably had a meeting with HR and was told this. But nowadays, with the internet and multiple entertainment news outlets, no one wants news like this leaked, it makes the network look bad, so that’s why they’re monitoring the situation.

I had a similiar situation happen to me. My boss who hired me was feeling threatned. She did everything in her power to get me fired. I was always one step ahead of her going to HR and others but like Booby Jones said nothing comes of it unless a lawsuit is threatened, I ended up leaving. After I left I found out she managed to have 4 other assistants before me fired, I was the only one who tried to do anything about it.

I know of a high level person at one of the three letter networks who was sexually harassing someone who worked for him. She had a trail of evidence like e-mails from him that she went to HR with, but all they did was transfer him to another department and hope the “problem” would go away. The girl was pissed off they treated it like nothing, so she told them either he is fired or she quits and the next day they are going to be served with papers from her lawyer. All of the sudden 30 minutes later security showed up at his office and gave the guy 5 minutes to clear his desk before they kick him out on his ass and he is never allowed to work for the company or any of it’s affiliates ever again.

Like I said, the threat of a lawsuit is the only way to get results if you are one of the little people in a company.

nice job. what is funny is that liberal media are insanely liberal in their thoughts, reporting and writing, but in their personal lives, sex is paramount, whether the objects of their lusts like it or not.
a guy told me about a female exec who used a male assistant’s shirt to clean her glasses on the elevator. he just tucked it back in afterwards.
but that is nothing compared to the dudes going after the girls in the office. makes Mad Men look like a nunnery.

Yeah, because I’m sure people who work at conservative media outlets never, ever do naughty things…
