He knows perfectly well what he’s been up to will eventually trickle back to T-Town. But it’s almost as if Toothy’s deciding as long as he’s pullin’ this fake babe-nailing crap outta town, it doesn’t really count. Or maybe it’s that Toothy’s put-upon partner (the male one) won’t find out? Hey, gotta tip for ya, Tooth—it’s doubtful Grey even cares anymore. He’s over it. I totally agree with you, but I’m sorry to think that it’s only recently that the number of suicides has started to be reported in the press and online. One can’t help but think about the many young people who have died in the past and gone unreported.
Perez Hilton has actually been admirably proactive on this campaign, in contract to his previous rather unsympathetic celeb outings. But if fewer celebs (or more likely their people) didn’t try to keep them closeted when really hardly anyone would be surprised any more, it would be a very positive step forward.
Here in the UK, we’ve had a number of young reasonably famous celebs come out in the press recently, and the contrast with Hollywood’s code of silence always seems so striking.
The ones being reported are just the ones where there is a clear link to gay bullying. I think there is a staggering number that we don’t know about. Being from Canada, this is a topic that is not reported on nearly enough. I remember a young closeted man taking his life in the room next to my boyfriends in university residence 18 years ago. This is not a new phenomena that we are seeing. I won’t pretend to understand the struggles of the LGBT community, however I have a responsibility to embrace and support my fellow human beings.
I also want to add that there is an equal if not more of an onus on the straight community to be vocal in our support and to suspend judgement. It would be much easier for people to come out in a accepting, inclusive, and loving environment. A change in behaviour and mindset is needed on both sides.
I wasn’t gonna post to this since I don’t have a guess but Sleuth, truer words were never written! We need to stop giggling about who’s gay and who’s straight. I love Kathy Griffin’s “It Get’s Better” vlog that was on EvilBeetGossip today.

How will gays coming out of the closet save lives? Maybe in Hollywood and on Hollywood gossip sites, homosexuality is a happy and healthy lifechoice, but most of America does not agree. When gay marriage is brought before the people, it has never passed, not even in California. Only judges have allowed it to happen. There are a heck of a lot more people out there being bullied into suicide, than confused gay people. This issue needs some persepective, and not a bandwagon movement. That is why there was a period of time when AIDS funding was more than Cancer research. Our causes should be driven by facts and studies, not hype and hysterics. For example, Breast Cancer awareness is all the rage right now, but Men’s prostate cancer is killing more people than breast cancer. And, everyone knows toothy is Jake G.
Because honestly, people look up to celebs more than faceless politicians or even hard-working activists who don’t get the same hype.
More stars need to come out and help make a difference. Even if a kid can say, look so and so is gay and look at him now. It would be enough to shut some people up and make them think twice. The longer people hide away the worse it gets for children who are left to deal with it when adults refuse to come out.
Of course, nobody is FORCED to come out. It would just be a great gesture if they did.

Don’t know about the cocaine but it’s supposed to be when he was much younger. JG’s last two films have been major disappointments both for the performers and for the studios. And although his fauxmance with Reese was not genuine, it ended rather bitterly, I gather, as has his long term relationship with Austin Nicols. As to how Nichols is going to make Jake’s relationships look like child’s play…I think that’s hinting that Sophia & Austin might be planning for a baby.

Has anyone considered a third option? I know by this point, everyone is pretty much convinced (most people anyway) that TT and GG are Jake and Austin. Maybe, the allegations that Jake’s relationship with Reese was a fauxmance as Austin’s relationship with Sophia is supposed to be. But you know, they COULD be bisexual. I tend to think Hollywood as a whole is more bisexual than anything else, but that’s JMO.
I would agree with this. When GG was with Dunst there were pics of them and I have to say, Dunst did look truly happy. They looked to me like two people very comfortable with each other and in love. Bisexual I would buy. But the Reese thing, to me at least, just doesn’t make a lot of sense and I can’t see her going along with that. Also, could his film career be described as “mostly impressive”, not sure about that.

I am a big supporter of the gay and lesbian community, which is loud and proud here in NYC but I stand behind closeted actors not coming out. First of all, I think 90% of male actors are gay since hetero ones are too stupid to memorize lines and convey emotions. (Enter in to evidence: that slob on the couch throwing back beers on Sunday. Do you really think he has the stuff that Clooney’s made of?) Second of all, if every closeted actor came out, tell me the dynamics of the movies he was in wouldn’t change..Titanic, Mr and Mrs Smith, Grease, Twilight to name a few. The “believibility” factor is what sells tickets and what makes people rich and a household name. How many Queen Latifah movies have you watched and been like “Oooh girl, just come out already, because you and __________ have no chemistry”(Except in Set it Off…where she played a big ole’ lesbian)..We would stop showing an interest because the point of movies is for 2 hours to take us out of our own lives and spend time with this realistic (even if fantasy) love story, comedy, or drama. If watched Mr and Mrs Smith and didn’t buy into the sexuality of the characters because we know Clooney and Pitt are “smooshing” it wouldn’t have been as good. Everytime you hear a Ricky Martin from now on the conotation is lost. So I think really people like Ted and Perez should stop pushing people out the closet because they are not going to pay those people’s bills when the money stops rolling in (Doesn’t everyone have an opinion on LiLo yet none are jumpingto help her) Perez and Ted’s and millions of other gay America’s livelihood does not depend on the well kept sexuality secret

Unfortunately, it’s annoying but true that an actor’s choices will change if they are open about their sexuality – despite the fact a good actor, doing their job properly ‘becomes’ the character. But, if someone is watching a Queen Latifah movie and can only think “Oooh girl, just come out already, because you and __________ have no chemistry” then it says more their mindset than it does about her – I’d be saying ‘OMG the director sucks if this is what he/she thinks of as a good performance!’. I look forward to the day when no-one gives a #$&! about an actors sexuality, least of all the actor concerned… but that seems to be a far off as the day we stop making talentless oxygen-thieves rich and famous for acting like complete twats!

Jake Gyllenhaal is so far in the closet, it would be humiliating for him to come out. Not because he’s gay, but because of all of the hypocrisy he spews anytime he has an interview.
He oh so subtly tries to reinforce that he’s straight but it just comes off fake. The last GQ he was in, I remember him talking about when he realized he first fell in love with women. It sounded so forced, so put upon. There are plenty of stars out there that get gay rumors but they let it roll off their shoulders because they know they don’t have to prove anything. It’s these stars that I believe are truly straight. But when you have to sit there and try to prove you’re straight anytime you are given a platform to speak, the “thou doth protest too much” alarm goes off on my gaydar. Give it up Jakey. You are just setting yourself up for embarrassment when you finally get exposed, and everybody looks back at your interviews and laughs at the s**t you said.
Don’t get me wrong. I love Jake Gyllenhaal and think he’s a great actor. But as a gay man, I’m beginning to realize how much these closeted gay actors affect the lives of gay youth. Gay teens need heroes to look up to as well, and hiding in the closet when you have such an incredible life and career only reinforces that you can’t be a successful actor and be gay as well.

I don’t know, I just read this interview of him in a magazine in Greece where I am from, where he kept talking about how much he liked to have sex, his relationships with women and especially the most recent one with January Jones from Mad Men, that stroke me as hyperbole for some reason. Come on man, you are trying too hard to convince us you are a sex machine! And surely he had a mostly impressive career in films including his Oscar win but not exactly what we call “box office success”. And I surely can see him being a previous cocaine user, especially after reading about his friendship with the late Tupac Shakur.
