This Movie Star Hates You

CDAN – This A++ list movie actor from one of the top five grossing movies of all time was on the house phone in a hotel lobby when he was spotted by a fan. The fan waited patiently until the actor was done with a call and as the two crossed paths, the fan asked for a picture. The actor did not even acknowledge the presence of the fan and just walked right by.

Obviously Leo. He seems like a real jagoff.

  • Laura Palmers Hooha

Leo. He’s a bloated, fat toad. King of the * in Hollywood and only outdone by James Cameron.

  • stinkweed

    Avatar
    Titanic
    Lord of the Ring
    Pirates
    Toy Story 3

A++ actors: Leonardo, Tom Hanks, Johnny Depp.

Has to be Leo. Johnny is known for being super nice to fans. I don’t think Tom would have the great rep that he has if he was a jerk to his fans.

  • insider1970

Well, the top 5 highest grossing films worldwide are these according to imdb http://www.imdb.com/boxoffice/alltimegross?region=world-wide
So, I agree it is obviously Di Caprio, movie “Titanic”. Second guess: Johnny Depp, movie “Pirates of the Caribbean”. For me, Depp is a biggest star than Di Caprio so obviously A++, while Di Caprio -for me- is a little below him. But I think Leo is the subjest of this blind.

  • JustMexoxo

I don’t know.. Christian Bale seems like a bit of a self righteous jerk.

  • CivilSybil

But why would he be carrying pictures? He could have nodded or said hello, but expecting an actor to dispense signed 8×10 photos on demand is a bit much.

    • NewCareer

*giggle* I think the fan was asking to have a picture taken with the actor.

I have no guess, but how sad for the fan. On the other hand, maybe the actor had just received really bad news on the phone and was in a daze….?

    • Sleuth

I read it as the fan asked if they could take a picture of him or with him.

    • JAqueen

lol dnt worry sybil we all hav our dumb moments

    • Ashton Cruz

I agree, he was definitely asking to have his picture take with the star. On a relatad note you know who did that to me a couple of years ago? Sasha “Borat” Cohen. While his partner Isla was more than gracious to pose with me, ((and Zach Efron after her!!! (This was backstage a the MTV awards 3 years ago)) Sasha looked me straight in the eye and simply told me, NO I dont like having my picture taken with fans when I’m not in Character. WTF??? *.

      • Malou

While I get what you mean, I don’t think that makes him an *. Him acting is him doing his job, and he isn’t obligated to pose for pictures with people he’s never met just because they happen to like his work.

What I think is really * of this particular actor is that he acted like the fan didn’t even exist. While I would be disappointed if my favourite actor didn’t want to pose with me, I can still, in a way, understand.

      • LooLoo

He makes his living off being specific characters. I can understand the picture thing with him. At least he was polite about it and explained it to you. A lot of these people would either just ignore you or tell you no and walk away.

      • Ashton Cruz

Oh yeah sorry, my bad, I totally forgot that the rest of the Hollywood actors make a career out of playing themselves on film. My bad my bad. Huh?????????????

  • LoriK

    Harrison Ford. Star Wars.

    • i love this guess. he’s always seemed like a grump to me.

    • Steel

This was my first guess as well. He seems quite unpleasant.

      • luvprue1

I don’t think it him, because while he a great actor, I do not think he still consider a “A ++ list actor. At least not anymore. Plus, I think the blind would have mention him as a “aging actor”,or something like that.

    • Whatevah

      I ♥ Harrison Ford but I really don’t think he’s A++

    • kels

That’s what I thought at first, but Star Wars isn’t the top 5.

It’s gotta be Leo. But remember that celebs have bad days too. Maybe his phone call put him in one of those moods where you just don’t want to speak to anyone. If celebs stopped to acknowledge every single fan that crossed their path, well then they would haven’t much time to do anything else.

      • Minky

        Totally, thank you Kels.

I know I am going to sound really contrary here, but while it’s an obvious bummer for the fan in question, I just don’t see a problem here. It’s part of these guys’ job to be up for this sort of thing at all times, I know. But we all have off days at work, right? Having people wanting this of me 24/7 is my idea of hell, whether it was part of my job or not. I know that its the life that these guys sign up to, but I can’t help but think we’re being a bit hard on them, whoever it is.

That being said, the whole set-up is beyond my comprehension anyway: I would never approach anyone I didn’t know on the street unless I was looking for directions or something, whether they were famous or not. Even Zombie Cary Grant – in fact, I’d keep the hell out of his way especially.

  • plum

Totally Leo Dicaprio and Titanic!he’s a few paranoid with people and dislikes to be close with people

  • Stella

    jonny Depp or Leonardo DiCaprio

  • yepimbored

    It’s either Leo/Titanic or Johnny Depp/POC:DMC

  • anonymous

Leonardo DiCaprio. Johnny Depp is very nice to ALL of his fans!

  • Jenny Humphrey

Eh, this doesn’t seem so bad. He’s not obligated to acknowledge every stranger that approaches him just because he’s famous.

    • saucykitty

That, and who knows? Maybe he was in a legit hurry to get somewhere.

I haven’t seen that many famous folk out in public, but the couple of times I have, I just leave them alone.

    • Kelley

I understand being in a hurry, but I don’t think he had to ignore the fan completely. A mere, “Sorry, but I’m in a rush.” surely couldn’t have been that difficult.

      • Sammi

Even I don’t notice someone calling out to me at times, and I’m not famous. I tend to be in my own world when I’m walking, so I won’t notice someone saying anything to me unless I saw them from afar. It happens.

      • poopskies

for all we know, maybe the actor did say something. none of us were there so we don’t know exactly what happened. there’s always three sides to a story: person A’s, person B’s, and the truth (:

    • LooLoo

I had friends who saw him on the street in Paris while he was filming The Man in the Iron Mask. They called his name and he turned around and took off running. RUNNING. I’ve been a little soured on him ever since. I can completely see this being him. He’s mellowed with age and is no longer running, but he’s still a horse’s *.

  • anonymous

The fan wanted to TAKE a picture of the star. I agree it’s rude, but I can see how very annoying being waylaid by the public can be. So I don’t think this star “hates” us, but really, put yourself in his place. … I say Harrison Ford.

  • anonymous

also think it’s rude of the fan to demand a picture. isn’t that what cell phone cameras are for? don’t have to barge up to someone and demand they put their heads together to get in a photo, lol!

    • plum

it’s more polite to ask a picture than take pix without authorization(a fan isn’t a paparazzi)

    • luvprue1

Well , if you think about the fan ask if he would take a picture. At least he didn’t just start snapping away. I think for the amount of money that the actor can command because of his devote fans, he should be able to take a picture or two.

  • Gumcuddler

Let’s list the top 5 grossing movies of all time, ok?

    1. Avatar
    2. Titanic
    3. LOTR-ROTG
    4. Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest
    5. Toy Story 3

I’m going with #4, for the movie, and Johnny Depp for the actor. As much as I like him in every way, he doesn’t come off as overly fan friendly. And he may have been distracted, he also seems like a person with stuff on his mind.

  • SayItAintSo

Johnny filmed near us a couple years and everyone said he was really good to his fans. I am going with leo and the movie was titanic.

  • Einstein

    Top 5 Movies (US)
    1. Avatar
    2. Titanic
    3. The Dark Knight
    4. Star Wars (original)
    5. Shrek 2

    Top 5 Movies (WW)
    1. Avatar
    2. Titanic
    3. Lord of the Rings 3
    4. Pirates of the Caribbean 2
    5. Toy Story 3

My money’s on Leo, but also maybe Christian Bale – is he A++?

  • lydiavance

Ok, call me crazy, but I don’t get what the big deal is here. People should not feel entitled to having celebrities stop to chat/take pictures with them. While I think this celebrity would have been nicer to have just shook his head or said something to the person, I don’t really fault him for not doing so. It must be terribly frustrating to live with so many people knowing you all the time….

That being said, I think it is Leo. He is notoriously introverted and does not like people talking to him nor does he like talking to people.

    • amagod121

You know, we assume that because actors act and the results are made public that this means they like being in public. Some may, others may not. Maybe he’s introverted or shy…or maybe he was even tyring to stay in character for a current role. We just don’t know. I’m with the folks who say let him have his day off. I know that if I were him, I’d hate to be “on call” 24/7.

  • Saint Nick

Funny, I also thought of DiCaprio right away, but I don’t know why.

Anyway, I am pretty sure that every and each one of the most famous celebrities in the world get sick of fans eventually. It can be really annoying depending on your mood.

  • Mindy

Imagine every time you stepped out you were accosted by people wanting a piece of you. I’d do the same thing this star did. Maybe they were just told some tragic news on the phone. It could be a number of things. People need to * off.

  • anonymous

My first thought was Leonardo di Caprio. He’s definitely A+++ and Titanic certainly fits the bill. Plus, he’s often in hotels.

  • ladymarmalade

I do agree it’s presumptuous to ask for a photo, but the star could have at least said hello and not walked by like no one was there. I am sure they do get sick of people bothering them, but if you don’t have fans you don’t have a career. It comes with the territory.

    • luvprue1

Exactly! and the actor should remember fame is fleeting. If you think about all the actors who were famous, and big stars, who later down the line can’t get jobs.

  • mommy

Too bad Tom Cruise doesn’t have a movie on the list. I heard from a PA he had a guy arrested for asking for his autograph on set, so I could definitely see him doing this. I’ll go with Leo on this one.

  • Whatevah

I’m going to go with Depp. (“Pirates” movies)

  • Eric Shinn

Morgan Freeman – starred in The Dark Knight

  • GailS

    Leonardo DiCaprio/Titanic

  • Cherise

I thought of Leo DiCaprio right away before I even got to the end of the blind =\

  • Bambi

What about Tom Hanks (he was in Toy Story 3)?

I still think this is Leo tho…

  • Cecilia

I´m sure this is Leo Dicaprio, Johnny Depp is really nice to fans, besides he seems like a humble guy, I´ve seen videos of him hugging fans and talking with them, he was voted the nicest celeb like 2 or 3 times. Johnny is a great guy unlike Dicaprio who is a known dumbass. And I agree that fans can get annoying BUT this people is rich and famous because the fans go to the movies and pay to see them so the less they can do is take a picture or sign an autograph. Who the f**** do they think they are?????

  • Diego

This is totally Leo, I’m not his fan or anything, but I thought he was nice to fans :( If I were famous (LOL I know) I would treat all my fans with respect.

  • GeeWhiz

Can’t believe this is Leo. I have a friend who lives in LA and has run into Leo on different occasions and says he is a nice guy, quiet but nice. I’ve also heard Depp is a decent guy too. Don’t know who it is, but I’d be floored to hear it is Leo.

    First time poster…love you BF!

  • GeeWhiz

    Ooops…love you BV!

  • nonymous

Johnny Depp makes no sense. While he’s def A++ he’s notorious for being super nice to his fans… to the point of disbelief. And he’s incredibly sincere about his appreciation for his fans. Leo on the other hand comes off as a little self righteous. As much as I adore the guy I gotta go with Leo for the actor and Titanic for the movie.

  • tvbrat

    Leo D FTW

I’m conflicted, though, on how this situation should have played out. If it was a true fan and not on of those professional autograph seekers, then I feel badly for him/her. On the other hand, nearly every star of any caliber has a stalker or two they have to watch out for. It might have been really jarring for the star to have a stranger approach them.

  • anonymous

I don’t feel bad for any celeb who is asked to take a picture..i would take a photo with a fan every day if i had their millions of dollars. Yes i am sure sometimes it’s annoying but oh boo hoo! They can give back their money and then they won’t be bothered for photos, problem solved.

  • Wells

    No Actor alive is A++

  • loon

Why does everyone keep guessing Christian Bale? Is the whole ‘rant’ thing – everyone has bad days. People in Hollywood have done way worse, look at Roman Polanksi, Michael Jackson et al. I guess the worse the crime, the more forgiving people are *sigh* And you’re missing the part where none of his films are in the TOP 5.

Depp I feel is unlikely considering he’s usually great to his fans. On the set of Public Enemies, he spent hours signing autographs. The other actors on set walked straight by the huge crowd. Leo is a good guess, he does come off as a slight jerk, or maybe he’s just shy. But, the ‘crossed paths’ seems like a Romeo + Juliet or Titanic ref . . .

In any case, I’m going with Harrison Ford.

  • elay

Leo is shy and private man but nice:

Movie Star Leonardo Dicaprio took a few seconds of his time to sign a handful of autographs before catching a flight out of Vancouver, sept 18:

    • lisali

I disagree..hes occasionally nice when cameras are around..thats it.
A friend&I saw him outside a restaurant in LA earlier this year,he was by himself, smoking, just leaning against the wall, she asked if she could take a pic with him,and he acted all mental like she had slapped him or something,he said no, turned away, and tried to cover his head with his shirt collar! I said”you could start your shirt on fire”..(with his cig) and we just laughed& walked away..he was still standing there trying to pull his collar over the side of his head!
I thought it was rude and pathetic..I totally think this blind is him. I’ve seen it kids!

  • Gabriella

After the first line I thought of Leo (and the movie being Titanic) However, I have heard stories about him being nice to fans.

How about Russell Crowe? Did Gladiator do well?

  • Tina

I really hope it’s not Viggo. He seems like a pretty grounded guy.

  • MommaB

Hmm-has anyone considered that regardless of who it was, if they got bad news on the phoen, they might just have been distracted? If he was in the house phoen and not a cell, it would have to be either hotel staff or his wife in the room..Everyone can be a selfsish jerk in teh right situation, or have a bad day-even those who depend upon the masses for their livelinhood. As for “patiently waiting”; someone standing by where they could maybe hear my convo, hovering…would put me in a bad mood! It’s just rude!

    • wubbzy

I’m with you on this. Famous ppl ought to be paranoid…you never know who’s a fan or a stalker…or even worse. Get a grip ppl, celebrities have bad days just like us. I certainly don’t expect them to have a happy face every day. It’s annoying when ppl put celebrities and famous ppl on a pedestal and expect them to be all smiles all the time.

That being said, idk who it could be, nor do i really care.

  • Don't Know For Sure

Weird because people have said that Johnny Depp is very shy but he is very friendly to fans and then others say Leo is very shy but unfriendly to fans. I’m confused (and I’m a very shy person myself). But I agree it’s his right to ignore the fan and maybe he didn’t hear him/her. Everyone has those times where they are in a “zone” and need to be called a couple times before their attention is got.

  • UncleEntity

If this is Leo, I’m sure he’s had so many psycho fans that this may be the only way he has to deal with him. I used to work at a hotel that Leo stayed at back right after Titanic and I can tell you first hand that the people were absolutely nuts. When word got out that he was staying at our hotel we had all kinds of whack jobs coming in and stalking him in the lobby. I once had a mother (in her 40′s) and her teenage daughter come in and the mother demanded that I give her Leo’s room key so that her daughter could meet him. Obviously I denied he was even there, but the mother began screaming and insisting I let her in his room NOW. The daughter was begging the mother to stop and to leave, but the mother insisted her daughter should go to his room. I had to have security escort her out…her screaming the whole time and her daughter repeatedly apologizing for her mother. People lose their minds around Leo for some reason.

  • Vidahl

I’m glad I’m not famous. Must say Harrison Ford is quite a nice guy, if approached in a polite way.
