No other party involved (except the ever-present wife). The liaison had simply runs it’s course. It could have been ugly, but the youngster has been through this before. That’s the article I came up with when I googled John Palermo, too, and it’s from 2008! Refers to almost everything in that article that was hinted at above, which is really weird.

ok, John used to be Bryan Singer’s assistant and then he met Hugh at the X-men set…he soon became Hugh’s assistant and got a promotion as a buissness partner at their production company SEED..
They use to wear matching rings and everything
and now After 6 yrs they recently announce they are heading separate ways

Hugh will never come out. After a while you gotta choose. He had to let Jon go for his family. He will NEVER leave his wife because she knows and is his cover. Major part of Hugh’s appeal is that he is hot, nice and a family man so how can he ditch his wife and kids for his play toys. He knnows this and his wife knows this. I think it’s the womans fault, why do you marry a gay man in hopes of making him straight? If I can see that Hugh is gay, how can’t his wife who knows and sleeps with him?
I am really happy for John to move on. He will have no problem finding a gay partner. No reason to waste time on someone who will never have a life with him.
There’s no evidence she’s ever tried to change him. He had this relationship with his “partner” for quite a while and yet Hugh and his wife have seemingly been happy. She and he have two children together who they obviously adore. They have a life together. It’s not the life you would have chosen maybe. But it’s their life.
The decision to come out or not is clearly his to make.
Yeah they had this picture perfect life together while the “partner” suffered because their relationship had to remain in secret.
And I don’t understand why one can’t make a decision to come out. Neil Patrick Harris did it. Ricky Martin did it. So many others did it and more will do it in the future.
Harris and Martin weren’t married , they never act “the happy straight family” and they don’t work as “action actor”.

I think both the parter and the wife suffered here while Hugh got to have his cake – so to speak – and eat it and have sex with it too!! It would be demeaning both to be the closeted partner AND to be the wife with the gay husband.
Plus, these arrangements can be very confusing to children, who understand much more than adults think they do. It just sounds like a big mess.
Yeah, it must be horrible to be married to a nice, great looking guy who treats you well, has tons of cash and is a great dad to your children.

I heard a rumor that Debra is more like his manager or a business partner than a wife, she’s one of the folks who is responsible with Hugh’s success in the United States and controls Hugh career and image behind the scenes. They’re also the best of friends who live together but don’t sleep together because she’s actually a lesbian…

You know what I don’t understand? This whole Poor Deb mentality like people think she’s just this weak wife who turns a blind eye whenever her husband cheats with men…. I fully believe she knows what she’s doing and is a strong,smart business savvy woman. Let us not forget that she was the bread winner in their native land..a star in her own right.they may not have a “traditional” family-rumors of John being gay and Deb-a lesbian but its THEIR family.

In Oz it is very, very, very, very , very well known that Hugh is, well, um…not straight. He has been very `popular’ and `prolific’ in the Sydney` Arts’ community. One of my absolute best friend’s brother was hit on by by him whilst working in Sydney Arts/ Theatre community many, many times…..as in it got ridiculous how many times it took for him to get the NO message.
Deb is very popular. they are best mates who made an agreement to co parent. This is family and career over love…..

From pix I’ve seen of Hugh’s wife, she’s ALWAYS struck me as masculine. And never any effort made to feminize at all, even for a huge publicity event like the Academy Awards. It’s really comical how they seem to be absolute polar opposites in terms of attention they each pay to their own appearance… hmmm………
Even more comical if they came with the “partner” who used to wear eyeliner and skinny jeans.
