BlindGossip – There is a film that won’t be in the theaters for at least another year. The schedule got pushed back because of casting issues. They were casting the male and female leads at approximately the same time. However, as soon as the female lead found out that a certain actor was ready to sign on the project, she bailed out, and the role had to be recast.
The reason? The actress had some history with the actor. No, they hadn’t dated before. But the actor did have a torrid affair with the actress’ ex while they were dating. Instead of blaming her ex, she blamed the actor. She thinks that the actor is so charismatic and so charming that he must have manipulated her ex into doing something the ex greatly regretted down the road. There is still a lot of bad blood among the three of them. A couple of extra hints: the ex is also in the acting biz, and all three of these people usually have dark hair.
I’m thinking this involves Tom Cruise as the actor who charmed and manipulated.

The first paragraph seems to totally fit Tommy C. I can see an actress not wanting to be his co-star after all that’s happened in the last few years.
Obviously, Cameron Diaz is an exception. Maybe he’ll recruit her into his cult.
The second paragraph is not as strong unless the actress’ ex is a guy. Then it could still be little Tom. His need to dictate comes into play, and the actress probably is turned off by his sexuality.
Something about the way they don’t say the ex’s sex makes me think it’s a woman.
Maybe an actress who was supposed to have Cameron Diaz’s role in Knight and Day, that movie that was filming in Boston?
What about Jennifer Garner and Michael Vartan as her ex?
…Or it could be that the actress is gay, and her ex is a woman?

So who is it that can be ’so charismatic AND charming’? Not that common a combination in Hollywood.
Tom is a bit too creepy to fit that bill, maybe Will Smith, George Clooney, Hugh Jackman, Robert Downey Jr, Johnny Depp. Brad Pitt and Matt Damon usually have lighter hair so that might leave them out.
Could ‘Bailed out’ be a clue?.

There’s never been any suggestion of Bale being anything but straight — sexually speaking. If he lit into a cinematographer for walking into his sight line, can you imagine what he’d do to a fellow actor who tried .. uh, you know..

Billy Bob Thornton for the male, Angie for the ex and someone Angie was with for the lead. I have no idea about her name though. But it would make sense. All have (or used to have) usually dark hair.
AJ has always said she doesn’t have any regrets in life. Plus, she’s so open about her choices that she doesn’t seem to fit the secretive nature of this one.
Finally, it sounds like the ex is a guy anyway.

Okay, for now, my vote is Julia Roberts (who’s brunette most of the time) for bailed actress; Benjamin Bratt, as the regretter; and no clue for Mr. Charisma.
One more reason I think this could be Julia or someone of her caliber: she’s powerful enough to flout her nose at a job prospect for a frivolous reason such as she doesn’t like a prospective co-worker. Okay, well, that’s when you act.
I’m sure that there must be a clue in the title, because it doesn’t really seem to gel with the rest of the blind.

Three separate thoughts on the actress:
Jennifer Connoly is dark haired and a couple of the clues may point to her. She was in Reservation Road and road is mentioned. I found reference to a famous quote about orange and blue in Requiem for a Dream.
All of the ex’s may be to hide the gender, but what if Eating, Sleeping or X (like Xmen) are clues. Until True Blood, I always thought of Anna as brunette. So, Anna would have ex and blood as clues. Perhaps Blue as well since she was in Blue State.
Another thought but not as many clues toward her: Sandra Bullock due dark hair and While You were Sleeping, but the bad blood doesn’t fit. Probably wrong since she executive produces a lot and would probably have a strong say in who the male lead was offered to.
Finally, Julia Robert is in Eat, Pray Love but isn’t she considered a redhead?

Anna Paquin, Kirsten Dunst and Julia Roberts are all blond most of the time, at least lately. I think it’s Tom Cruise – he’s such a troublemaker, and he’s so crazy that it would be easy to blame him instead of the ex. There’s no doubt he’s a little creepy, but he’s also pretty charming – he’d have to be in order to persuade a lot of these people in the business to let him still make movies despite his insanity. It’s not just money, because other people who have money don’t need to take him on just because he pays them off – it would hardly be worth it (because he’s crazy)…
