CDAN – This A list female country singer was hired to shoot a video of her just talking. She was given the script ahead of time and had cue cards at the ready. She came in the morning after a concert in a nearby town and was put in hair and makeup. A room was especially decorated for her to shoot the video in. The building was cleared for only essential people and the camera started rolling. And rolling. And rolling. Because for all of her posturing and songs of “I am a strong, smart woman” our singer couldn’t even read her cue cards right. Also, “uh” is one of the main words in her vocabulary. The crew, ever the professionals, stuck it out waiting for her to get her few lines right. After a few hours, the director called it a day and said they have what they need and proceeds to try to edit those few lines into something passable. He had to use a lot more video of her singing then he thought he would but he made it work.
Faith Hill?
I really like this guess! I just saw a commercial with her in it for some good cause psa and they BARELY showed her at all, like maybe twice and she looked a little like she was having a hard time with the cue cards. She looked great but something in her face looked like she was struggling.

I don’t think it is faith hill. On Monday night football she sings the intro and there is a speaking part at the end…She sounds decent.

That would be Gretchen Wilson, and I have never seen her in any interviews, but she strikes me as being sharp as a bag of wet hair. I like that guess.

less than 5 minutes after I posted, I saw her in that commercial. They don’t really give her much to say. Face it, she can’t be bright. That pic from last week with her and the swasitca guy wasn’t a great idea.
She’s not dumb, she’s just young. I’ve seen her speak numerous times in interviews, and she’s fine. Not her.

Good point. Just because someone can’t read a cue card doesn’t make them stupid. I bet if they gave the poor woman the words ahead of time, she could have memorized them. Some people’s strengths just don’t lie in the same places as others.

As a VERY die hard country music fan, Kellie is not A list. She could be a solid B if you’re talking about only “young country”. If you’re talking about country on the whole, she’s probably a C.
I think if it was Kellie, they would be OK with her screwing up lines… that’s her thing! I think this is Carrie Underwood, sadly. She’s finally gotten some personality into her stage performance, but that girl is totally wooden otherwise. She probably isn’t dumb… just nervous.

I’m from the town where most of the singers live. Pickler isn’t considered A-list. Underwood is sweet but she is intelligent. If it was her, it was just because she was nervous. Faith Hill and Martina McBride are very articulate IRL.

She’s not terrible, but A-list country is Reba McEntire (yes, still), Faith Hill, Martina McBride, Carrie Underwood, Taylor Swift (getting there if she’s not already, she has a lot of crossover stuff that the industry isn’t too fond of). Pickler’s name does not belong on that list.
i hate to say it because i actually enjoy her music but i just saw a commercial for some “dish network exclusive” concert that carrie underwood is doing- and she didnt speak much! it kept flashing to her singing rather than explaining what was going to take place.
