lady gaga is not ugly. she looks totally weird with her crazy get-ups, but that’s purposeful. if you’ve ever seen her outside of all the costumes, she’s a normal, cute girl. i took it to mean she’d ‘ugly down’ in terms of toning it down because she’s always so glammed up. just a guess.

Lady Gaga is ugly. I agree that if even plastic surgery didn’t help, let’s face it her face IS busted. This is why it’s so ludicrous that she of all people would say that she would “ugly down”. Has she looked at herself in the mirror lately????

My motto in life is “To each their own”, but your comment (and others like it), are just killing me. While I agree that Gaga is not conventionally pretty, I also find her very attractive, in a hot Italian girl sort of way. Seriously, dark haired Gaga reminds me of any one of the random hundreds of Italian girls I grew up with. Maybe most of those girls who resembled Gaga would not qualify to win beauty pageants or modeling contracts, but to call that kind of ethnic look as dog-out ugly is just plain mean. It’s not like Gaga has an Elephant Man face that is repulsive to look at or anything, she just isn’t a conventional type of beauty.

I agree, I think this blind is about Lady Gaga. Aside from many of the clues within the blind fitting Gaga, I’ve heard the physical comparisons made between her and Liza before. Also, I read the “ugly down” part of the blind the same as you too. Because those words were used in parentheses, I didn’t take it as the subject was going “ugly”, just that they were willing to remove their everyday “glamour” for the role. Besides, I remember reading earlier this year that this Judy Garland biopic was being done as a musical, and if that’s the case, Lady Gaga definitely has the chops to sing Liza.

I could see Katy Perry lobbying for the role of Liza in a Judy Garland biopic. I don’t know how that would work, but I can’t think of any other biopics that would fit the bill.

As much as it pains me to remember this, Asslee was a regular on 7th Heaven for a few seasons, and is just recently coming off the Melrose Place remake. And there’s probably some other stuff I don’t know about but I’m too lazy to Google right now. That’s a decent amount of acting experience even if the “acting” in question is, well, questionable.

I’m with you MizFabulous, Judy Garland flick has been talked about all year. Much gossip and speculation about casting. Lady Gaga fits the clues. I wonder if the producers are thinking about the “Evita” debacle, Madge killed that film. I couldn’t see passed her myself.

How famous are Diana Ross’ daughters though? Not very. Tracee is a supporting actress at best these days, I barely remembered she was on Girlfriends and that was on for like 8 years, so it didn’t leave much of a mark. Rhonda was on a soap for like two years and that’s it. Judy Garland/Liza Minelli fit much better, and that biopic is most def getting made.
BTW I think Tracee Ellis Ross is hilarious, I like her a lot, I just don’t think she qualifies as “famous offspring”.

I could see how Lady Gaga would be decent at playing Liza Minelli, and I’d be happy as hell to see her out of those contrived “outfits” of hers…but part of me is just plain sick of her and hopes the part goes to someone who can act rather than just sing. Heather Matarazzo would make a fantastic Liza, and she can be dubbed without much hassle.
This is definitely Gaga & the JG biopic. Strangely, i think that Anne Hathaway, who’s playing JG, looks far more like Liza than Judy. Maybe thay should swap roles?

Get Happy: The Judy Garland story stars Anne Hathaway as Judy Garland. I don’t know who’s playing Liza, but Lady Gaga without a doubt could definitely do a good job. Lady Gaga may not be that attractive, but she’s not a monster. Lady Gaga may have high self-esteem and think she’s gorgeous. “To each his own” I guess. She does resemble Liza though, I must say.
