BlindGossip – This television guy is both a familiar name and familiar face. He’s been involved in many high-profile appearances, and is currently part of a television ensemble. It may come as a surprise to you that he drinks. Not just an after-work cocktail, mind you, but a beers-for-breakfast kind of drinker. He always comes to work prepared, but – depending on how many beers he has had – sometimes slurs his lines so badly or races through his lines so fast that he needs additional takes. Oh, and sometimes his scenes have to be re-blocked so that he is sitting down rather than standing up, because he sways too much. We haven’t heard of him doing any high-profile stints in rehab, but we do wonder what’s taking him so long.
Alec Baldwin.
Yeah, that is who I thought of. Reminds me of a sketch SNL did years ago called “A.M. Ale”. A.M. Ale, for the person you’d rather be!
He’s also always got that ruddy drunkard flush on his face, no?
Sad that even when he’s wasted, he still has more talent that 99% of the actors working in television…
same idea! sad ! he’s so good actor!
Maybe he feels like he’s not a good when he’s sober?
Alec is a movie actor in addition to TV so it 100% cannot be him!
Baldwin quit drinking about 20 years ago. Not him.
Alec’s character is hardly ever sitting down on 30 Rock, so I don’t think this is him. Jack is sometimes sitting behind his desk, but most of the time he is definitely standing up!
Neil Patrick Harris. But that’s not the only thing he guzzles…(he’s teh ghey)
Ummmm…… no.
“teh ghey”? Did I just get transported to a middle school or is it suddenly 1997?
Oh gawd. You did not just say that.
I’m sorry, but that was pretty funny. Why are all “teh gheys” so sensitive?
Joe Scarborough
Aren’t the pics usually a clue when the blind is from BG? Not much help this time tho…hmm, not really any clues in the blind either…really could be anyone
Jesse – There are actually a LOT of clues in this one. Love, BG
Just TELL us!!
Wow…then I must REALLY suck at this, cuz I’m just not seeing them. Makes me question every guess I’ve ever made on here (sobbing)
Eric Dane from Grey’s
william shatner
not on an ensemble show any more, just his talk show.
Danny Devito?
My thoughts exactly.
Hmmm… maybe. I’ve heard rumours that DeVito drinks a lot. But if he’s sitting down for scenes, it would have to be in a high-chair, or you’d never see him!
Marjoe Gortner
Breakfast of champions makes me think of Olympic atheletes on Wheaties boxes. Bruce Jenner? He’s a part of a TV ensemble and has been involved in many high profile appearances….
If the ” scenes have to be re-blocked ” was excluded, it seems like Seth Macfarlen with the “Familar” and “Guy” references in the beginning and the slurring lines…
MacFarlane is a “pleasantly buzzed most of the time” kind of drinker, not a “slurring lines, falling down drunk” kind of drinker, so it wouldn’t be him anyway.
Chevy Chase of Community.
like this guess!
Yep. This seems right.
But Chase spent time at the Betty Ford Clinic for his prescription drug follies. Don’t think it’s him, either.
I thought of NPH because he is higher profile right now and been hosting shows, but his acting is way too spot on for it to be him. I just don’t see it, his work is too perfect!
NPH always drinks beer on HIMYM, as well as sitting down quite often. The name & face are recognizable, as well as him doing publicity for equal rights, marriage, etc.
I can see him saying lines too quickly but never knew about a drinking habit…
I think it is him. Most gays are miserable people, so I would not be surprised if he is dependant on something. Sad, I like the dude.
Most gays are miserable people? Wow, thanks for sharing that stellar generalization.
thats highly rude and ignorant of you to say, jimmysimpson
Third vote for jimmysimpson being rude and short-sighted. Unbelievable.
alec baldwin has been sober for many years!!!
And he’s a movie actor in addition to TV so it 100% cannot be him!
i agree with the Chevy Chase guess, particularly about what took him so long.
Jason Segel is a heavy drinker, hope it’s not him. Definitely part of an ensemble.
Ted Danson. Familiar face familiar name…Sometimes you want to go where everybody knows your name. Ensemble Glenn Close, Tate Donovan, Marcia Gay Harden on Damages.
I like this guess… he’s also on Curb Your Enthusiasm, another great ensemble. BG says this is loaded with clues, but they must be subtle.
Doing some research–apparently there was a somewhat famous SNL skit years ago about the “Breakfast of Champions” but it featured Belushi, not Chevy Chase. Still . . . maybe a connection? I’ll keep looking. BI says that there are lots of clues, and I want to find them!
Following up on the Ted Danson suggestion. Sorry its my first time
Beer = Cheers!!
Ted Danson in Bored To Death & Curb Your Enthusiam… I remember wishing he’d just stand still instead of all that swaying, it really got on my nerves. Cheers anybody?? I saw Community once, could be Chevy as well-
It’s Ted Danson familiar name like “where everybody knows your name,” Cheers. Curb is shot in an improv style so that fact he needs extra take is kind of a big deal
Also, they didn’t say part of a “comedy” ensemble…Ted Danson is also on Damages. Definitely ensemble.
I was thinking the Cheers connection too. What about Kelsey Grammar? Although don’t think his new comedy would be considered a ensemble.
oops, Kelsey has had high-profile rehab stints, so not him.
Danson’s a good guess but, as someone who watches both shows, his scenes are almost always with him standing up.
Bruce Jenner — Olympic athlete on the cover of “the breakfast of champions” – Wheaties
bruce jenner is a great guess. nowhere does it say anything about the guy being an actor. it says ‘television guy’ and that he makes ‘high profile appearances.’ the whole breakfast of champions thing screams him, too.
Ed O’Neill? Married with Children, now on Modern Family. Don’t watch it, so I don’t know if he’s upright or slouched in a chair in his scenes.
First person I thought of. While I only saw one episode of Modern Family, he looked awful and i could easily see him being drunk.
And he sat for quite a bit of the episode.
Danny Devito
I take back NPH – it has to be Danny Devito! Breakfast of Champions = Rocky filmed in Philly! They own a bar- beer. He sits down often even though most of the characters stand. Def memorable face and name, as well as ensemble.
would this come as a suprise to anyone, after his numerous drunk appearances on talk shows? and his own vodka/limoncella line? i for one would not be shocked at all…
Sorry, I meant on It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia. The gang owns a bar together and often drink in the morning. I agree with pixie, though, that DD drinking is gossip, but fact…
Danny Devito sounds right and didn’t he come out with his own malt liquor?
I agree with Ed O’Neill … every preview shows him seated. Don’t watch the show though.
You should watch…hi.lar.i.ous. But anyway, now that I’m thinking of it Ed is sitting in pretty much every scene.
Bruce Jenner:
Home with the Kardashians: Familiar name/face, TV ensemble, he’s frequently filmed sitting down….
Breakfast of Champions: Wheaties box cover photo….
Decathlon Athlete: “races so fast”, “re-blocked” (starting block), “sways” (pole jump), “high”(jump), “long”(jump)
I officially change my guess to go with this, lol!
Though I hate to think of the POS show is considered something that sound so nice as an
ensemble”. Blech.
If I were a part of that family, I’d drink any chance I got.
Yeah, I’d be more suprised if he HASN’T turn to drinking just to tune those girls out.
I thought of Neil Patrick Harris too because he had so many hosting appearances last year and it would surprise me. Alec would not at all.
Lot’s of use of “high profile” in there…maybe an current/former FBI profiler gig on his imdb page? Mandy Patinkin? (Love him, tho, so I obvs hope it’s not him.) Mantegna?
The only other guy I think looks three sheets all the time is the guy from Leverage, Timothy Hutton.
Could “high-profile” be a subtle reference to Jenner’s recent plastic surgery which included fixing his nose?
I really don’t see Bruce Jenner. He doesn’t show up for work…they film at his home. And what lines? It is supposedly a reality show. I know it is somewhat scripted, but its not like they have a full written script they need to follow. I am guessing this is an actor. I like the Ted Danson guess as well as the Ed O’Neil guess. No one would be surprised to learn that Danny DeVito drinks-lemencellos anyone???
Chris Noth
The BI says that this might come as a surprise. Chris Noth is a known drinker. Not him.
with “after-work cocktail” I’m thinking “The Office” unless the whole “Familiar” thing points to a family show but I’d say it’s someone with a wholesome rep.
Regis…that old Irish drunk. Did you ever see him stand up on Who Wants to be a Millionaire?
And he always seems to be sitting on R&K!!!! Ha, ha, ha, you’ve solved it!
Charlie Sheen
Totally Bruce Jenner….Breakfast of Champions is the headline and Bruce was an Olympic Champ. Also, it says he has a ‘familiar face’ and Bruce Jenner has recently had some media attention due to his facial plastic surgeries. Also it says TV ensemble, which is referring to Keeping Up W/ Kardashians.
Neil swears by Red Bull, not cocktails.
Bruce Jenner – familiar name (yes), familiar face (he’s famously had bad plastic surgery on his face….he’s even admitted to this). Breakfast of Champions (Wheaties box covers), appearances (I think this is what he does for a living), and television ensemble (Keeping Up with the Kardashians….and yes, it is scripted).
I am going out on a limb…Tracy Morgan, 30 Rock.
we already knew tracey morgan was a drinker though. Love him!
Love him too, he’s hilarious!!
Just A guess: Omar Epps.
He was in the movie “Breakfast of Champions” and now is on “House”. I’ve never really watched the show but out of all the people in BoC, he is the only one still on TV.
Spencer Pratt.
This television guy is both a familiar name and familiar face. (Ugh, need this be explained?)
He’s been involved in many high-profile appearances, and is currently part of a television ensemble. (Doesn’t say actor. He & Heidi do ridiculous press and The Hills is an ensemble.)
It may come as a surprise to you that he drinks. (Didn’t he just give Holly sh*t for her drinking?)
Not just an after-work cocktail, mind you, but a beers-for-breakfast kind of drinker. (Ugh, just look at him.)
He always comes to work prepared, but – depending on how many beers he has had – sometimes slurs his lines so badly or races through his lines so fast that he needs additional takes. (Don’t his scenes always appear awkward?)
Oh, and sometimes his scenes have to be re-blocked so that he is sitting down rather than standing up, because he sways too much. (The Hills is famous for re-shoots.)
We haven’t heard of him doing any high-profile stints in rehab, but we do wonder what’s taking him so long. (He’s a fame whore but Speidi has been plenty silent as of late.)
I have seen John Stamos drink beer in the morning, so it could be him.
Tracy Morgan?
No, he had very famous stunts in rehab. Not him.
How bout that? Will Patton.
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001599/
He was in the movie “Breakfast for Champions”, he is a member of the “24″-ensemble and he is a well known actor (Armageddon, Remember the Titans, No Way Out, to name just a few…). And I never heard of him being in rehab.
what about hugh laurie?
Tim Roth in Lie To me…. definitely
