BlindGossip – David Letterman isn’t the only guy on TV sweating the revelation of personal relationships with his subordinates. There is a star of a television series who has built a similar house of cards. He is married, but has been intimate with at least three members of his cast and crew. One was a co-star, one was a behind-the-scenes crew member, and one was a guest star whose appearance was contingent on a satisfactory private audition with him. There may be more. In all seriousness, I’ve never heard a bad word about Steve Carell, I think he actually is one of the few good guys. Also, I don’t see Jenna Fischer or Angela Kinsey or any other co-star having an affair with him. I also don’t think Amy Ryan would do that, or that he could seriously say he needed a private audtition with her to decide whether or not she was right for the role.

Bill O’Reilly was already caught in a scandal a few years back when it was alleged that he had an affair with one of his producers who publicly called him out then sued him for a lot of money. Hugh`s family has moved to La and not long after moving they were mugged by burglars into the new house.
I remember that well because i thought, poor family they finally decided to follow him and the first what happens is mugged by burglars.
LLL, no, Hugh’s family have NOT moved to LA. They do visit frequently, and at least his wife was present in LA when their home was burglarized. That does not mean she doesn’t still live in London. His children still attend school in England and Scotland.
Ok Hugh’s wife & kids have definately not moved to LA. I know this because I live 200 yards up the road from them, albeit them in a £3m red brick and me and my partner in 1 bed flat. But such is life, anyway, I regularly see his wife, normally when i’m getting the bus to work and she is off to walk the dog. This isn’t some wierd stalker thing, I’ve never tried to talk to them, don’t go out my way to walk by their house, etc. i just happen to live up the road and have done so for the past 12 years. Ok, actually I have two bits of gossip, neither of which are going to set the world on fire. I know someone who has some involvement with the uk management team for Hugh Laurie. Back in Spring their boss was asked to do a deal with a top UK newspaper, whereby, Hugh would give a ‘frank & open’ interview to them in exchange for them leaving him and his family alone. Apparently, this paper had begun to hit a little to close to home – mainly with articles about how lonely and unhappy he was and the Laurie’s relationship being in trouble, some suggestion of how he wasn’t happy even when they were together. I think the interview went out in May and since then this paper as kept true to the aggreement and left them alone. But, just prior to this the person i know was told to prepare for another story being released by Laurie’s US team regarding him buying a house in the US so his family could move to be with him. He did buy a house (by the Hollywood Bowl – i’m told) But this was done as an investment and to give him more privacy and also to stop him being questioned about why he and his wife were still living apart after 5+ years. Anyway, my friend asked why his wife actually wasn’t moving to the US and was told that that would never happen. She doesn’t like LA, she’s got no plans to leave London and that they are both comfortable with their arrangement. I have no idea what that arrangement is. Told you it wasn’t set the world on fire gossip.

Yes to arrangement and newspaper. I also don’t think he is truely open, but he does talk about his family more in it. What kind of arrangement they have I can’t really say, whether its an ‘i’ll turn a blind eye, if you’re descrete’, or ‘we’ll keep up a front for the sake of the children’, or ‘we are totally committed to each other to the exclusion of all else’.. kind of arrangement. The person I know couldn’t delve any deeper, but felt from the tone being used it was something that most people wouldn’t accept in their own relationship. However, i’ve been married for 17 years and what I’d be willing to accept now is totally different from what I’d have accepted 17 years ago.
I’ve always thought there was an arrangement with his wife. As much as he probably enjoys his freedom, I don’t think HL would ever want a divorce. A divorce would be an embarrassing failure for him. I think there’s a fine line between what his wife will accept and what really goes on, though. Basically, I don’t think he plays by the rules. What happened to this interview? Can we expect to see it?? Was it recent?

I read those comments over a year ago. I didn’t realize you’d linked to that site. Yes, I believe the DJ saw HL with that younger woman. The reason this wasn’t big news is because people think he’s not capable of making the same mistake he made over ten years ago. Fans have this image of HL as some tortured soul, longing for his family from 5000 miles away. That’s just not true. Sure, he misses them no doubt, but is he suffering while living the dream? I doubt it. I really don’t think the man can help himself. I think he puts himself in these situations as a sort of punishment. I’m not saying that excuses his actions, but it does explain them. The man is nothing if not complicated.

As much as I don’t want to think that it’s Hugh Laurie, it does explain a lot about the changes in the show season 3; how Jennifer Morrison got put on the backburner, then barely on for two years and now has been fired while Lisa Edelstein rose to prominance first in screentime with multiple storylines nothing to do with the medical procedural apsect of the show and then as House’s love interest. I still don’t know why Olivia Wilde even got the job much less the prominance on the show that she has.
I think Franka Potente is enough of a big name that the private audition doesn’t apply to her but there are others who are lesser known who would fit the bill.
It does fit the facts better than the “creative decision” nonsense the producers have been spewing.

My old roommate works on the set of House. I asked about the possibility of HL having an affair with someone on the set and she told me this:
1) Franke Potente didn’t have any sort of “private audition”. She was asked to do that role and accepted.
2) Olivia Wilde is definitely NOT sleeping with David Shore. She’s also very sweet.
3) Hugh Laurie is not sleeping with Katie Jacobs, Lisa Edelstein or Jennifer Morrison. JM was on the set maybe 1 day a week last season. She wasn’t fired either, she left the show on her own accord to focus on doing movies. Lisa Edelstein is a huge flirt, but she has definitely never hooked up with HL. As for the Katie Jacobs thing, my friend says that is categorically untrue. KJ is married to Paul Attanasio, who is a producer and one of the creators of House. They are both good friends with Hugh.
Basically she says that HL is very professional and effortlessly charismatic. Pretty much all of the females on the crew or set have a crush on him because of this, but he has never shown any romantic interest in any of them and she is certain he is not sleeping with anyone on the set.
I always though that saying something is ‘categorically untrue’ was pretty much saying that something did happen.
I couldn’t imaging working side-by-side with people involved in the “categorically untrue” affair that my SPOUSE was having on the same TV show we worked on.

I´ve also read about Hugh sleeping with KJ. It was on October 2007, I think, when Hugh left in a hurry to London. And yes, everybody on the set knew it. But nothing ever happened between him and Lisa. They´re very good friends; she’s maybe his best friend on the show, but nothing ever happened because Lisa doesn’t go for married man. Younger, yes. Divorced, yes. But never married, and Hugh knows it.

I totally agree with Beth. Lisa may well have said that but when it comes to the crunch it’s easier said than done. They have awesome chemistry and they spend a hell of a lot of time together, just do the math. Feelings are a tricky ground where you can easily slip and get carried away. antonia, every time Lisa went to an event with one of her boyfriends, Hugh was absent. Or they were never seen together during the event. Not a single pic. It wasn´t like this person close to Lisa (who´s not close to me, btw. There´s another person in the middle) knew for a fact that he was jealous, but she told that Lisa usually avoided them (the boyfriends) and Hugh being at the same room. That sounds to me like he was uncomfortable with them. But, well, I´m not 100% sure this is true. All I know is that I´ve never seen Lisa with Jo in any pic, nor Hugh with any of Lisa´s boyfriends.

You’re assuming we’re getting all of this from one source. You don’t know where we’ve all had our information from. So I’d be careful not to assume that we’re all just assuming. I know it’s really hard to hear that Hugh is human and has his failings, trust me.

It’s not just gossip…there’s more to it and more than what we’ve been discussing here. We’re not just rambling and seeing pink elephants. Make sure to clue yourself in before calling other people naive or delusional. I, for one, am not. I don’t trust gossip if it’s not backed by evidence and we do have some. You don’t believe it? People are a hoot. I remember a story a while ago concerning Hugh Lawrie as a matter of fact. He was seen in a dark candlelit restaurant with a younger woman. It was reported he held her hand and during dinner leaned over and kissed her. Later as they left they hugged. Photos were snapped and a couple of media outlets reported the story. Fans were gossiping about it. The pictures proved the truth was that Hugh had taken his daughter out on a `date` alone to celebrate her birthday. The people who knew found it hilarious.
Regardless of who this is, and whether or not it is true,what on earth makes people think it is anyone`s business but David`s, the woman`s and his wife, or whoever this is, their wife, and the supposed other woman or women. Why don`t people get a life.

This is true. It’s commonplace in that town. I’ve heard things too. Nothing for me so far to know that he is sleeping around, or that he isn’t right now. In the past definitely though.

If it is Hugh and he has had all of these relationships with women, and an unhappy marriage to boot then I think he needs to gather some strength and change his life. He acts as if he’s trying to resolve the trauma caused by his mom as a child by attatching himself to all of these women who don’t seem to be making him better. So why would he continue with something that doesn’t work? If he’s unhappily married he should get a divorce for his and Jo’s sakes. And his children’s sakes too. And he needs to find one woman who he can be happy with. If that is Lisa, then so be it. They do seem happy together when I’ve seen them around together in pictures over the years. She has a great personality and is smashing, they make a great pair. They certainly look a hell of a lot happier than I’ve ever seen him and his wife in any picture. Either way, if I were him, I’d hate to live out the rest of my days in some sort of limbo trying to appease everyone but still get a little on the side for himself and yet none of that really doing a damn thing to make him happy. If this is even about him. Which I hope it isn’t. But hoping doesn’t equal truth.

People will always see what they want to see. Not one person here knows the truth. The only people who know the truth are the people involved, so find something better to do with your time than gossip about celebrities whoever they may be! And by the way, people can flirt, can enjoy fooling with each other and appear to have chemistry when there is nothing there too. They may have a public image, they may enjoy the rapport. That does not mean that outside that they want to be physically or emotionally involved with each other. Some people just like to interact in that manner. You see it all the time.

What on earth makes you think either that I would be shocked by the fact a person could have an affair, or by the fact that information could get out. The answer on both counts is no, it does not shock me. But I work in a business where we spend all day every day setting up illusions, and people swear to what they see. They know what is going on. They are convinced people are doing or not doing things. And they are wrong. So don’t you be too shocked that people who witness affairs and then gossip about them can be equally as wrong about what they have seen and heard. People see and think what they want to. Plain and simple.

Yeah but what you’re saying is that basically all people do is assume and make things up in their mind. That’s not how it always goes. You also need to understand that many things have truth to them. Not all rumors are started for the sake of starting them. Majority yes, but not all. People who think this is all BS need to open their eyes and realize that yes, it’s VERY possible this is true. Not everyone on here is clueless and if they say they know something, then maybe they do. You learn more when you are open to all options. And it’s not always ‘never’..
