Well we all know it’s not John Barrowman since he (unlike the character Capt Jack Harkness) is very, very, very gay and completely out of the closet.
The remaining male cast members are
Burn Gorman (Owen) — married with children
Gareth David-LLoyd (Ianto) — can find no reference of a significant other
Kai Owen (Rhys) — engaged
true, john’s always my first thought, expecially since post-children of earth there are only two men on torchwood… burn gorman is “very” attached, more so than kai owens i s’pose

Torchwood is a BBC scifi show, a spinoff of Doctor Who. It’s pretty popular, and it has been shown on BBC America.
‘Torched wood’ is a pun on the show’s title, and I think it’s fairly obvious what type of ‘wood’ is being referred to….

If I remember correctly, John Barrowman has at one point mentioned that he might be tempted to consider having sex with a woman. He just hadn’t met one he was sexually attracted to yet.

It’s been said that GDL is a major man-whore, and he’s supposedly dating someone, so he’s the prime candidate. I don’t see Burn Gorman doing this; he loves his wife. Dear God, don’t let this be Kai Owen; his SO recently had a miscarriage, and the thought of him cheating around on her at this time…nasty.
And as for Barrowman, if this is him, the fans will turn on him with a vengeance. The weird thing about most Whovians/Woodies is that while most of them have an ambivalence toward Barrowman, his SO Scott is universally loved by the fans, and if John was found to be cheating on Scott, even with a woman…I could easily see fans attempting to rip hip to shreds.
Here’s another candidate: Tom Price, who plays PC Andy. The blind says “Torchwood actor”, not “Torchwood star”.

My other meaning for my moniker stands for “Detective *”: lives in boating community not “Cabot Cove” but I’m sure there’s a cove somewhere and farm animals who show up at the front door unannounced (true story by the way) are not turned away. I guess all those years of watching reruns of “Murder She Wrote” and reading “Freddie the Detective” have finally paid off. That or my love of red wine…

Gareth David-Lloyd is engaged (has been with his girlfriend for quite some time) and his character was recently killed off – possibly the reason for it being ‘torched’ wood.
Barrowman just took over a role in La Cage in London a few days ago. I doubt it’s him, for a bunch of reasons.
*sniff* *! How dare they kill Ianto! A brilliant character perfectly played by Gareth. There had better be some fancy alien technology that can bring him back in the next series, that’s all I can say.

It’s definitely Gareth David-Lloyd at dragon con,it’s been all over twitter (thanks to some of the girls involved or at the party posting about it). It’s not the first time there’ve been stories like this about GDL either. I’ve never bought the devoted fiancee he pretends to be in public and hope she sees sense and dumps him.
It was Gareth David-Lloyd and the actor mate was Tom Felton.

Yep that Tom Felton. Though there were no tweets about him doing anything dodgy. Just GDL making out with multiple women – one bit his lip up – and possibly having sex on a sink with one girl, whose friend first reports it and has now retract the statement.
At DragonCon some girls Twittered claiming to have snogged Gareth at a party, and that a friend of their shagged him in the bathroom. They retracted it the next day though. HolyMoly just nicked it off Twitter. Who knows if it’s true or not.
ONE girl retracted what she said about her friend and GDL having sex. The ones who kissed him did not retract it.

Is it going to continue since the mini-series made it looked like that was the end of the show?
