CDAN – This Academy Award winner/nominee actress who does a mix of television and movies has a best friend who recently got married. Her friend is a special education teacher for a school which does not pay their employees very much. The friend married a man who is also a teacher at the school. The original plan was for the couple to just get married at their home and have a very tiny reception and not even a honeymoon as they are trying to save whatever dollars they earn for a home. Well, our actress gave them and paid for the wedding of a lifetime as well as a reception, the honeymoon and even gave them $50K towards their house.

On a hunch I say Oprah… Academy award for The Color Purple, If it said actress/talk show host it would have been obvious, so actress /tv fits. She has her girls school where I am sure she has befriended an employee or 2 that most likely does not pay that well acording to American standards…?

I read the Oscar win/nomination as having won and being nominated without winning. So Marcia Gay Harden is a really good guess. Could be J Roberts but… I don’t know, doesn’t feel like her.
Swank and Paquin haven’t been nominated without winning. I liked Glenn Close for it too (even if she might be a bit old for friends that don’t own their own homes and are just getting married) but she’s never actually won. Just 5 nominations.
I’m going to guess Toni Collette, on the basis that she just seems really nice plus does tv/movie mix, plus was nominated for an Oscar, not sure if she ever won.
