This is Paulo Nutini I think…He played at big Scottish festival at the weekend, and the mirror is a UK paper, and his music is considered celt along with his favourite football team being celtic
Not Bono as he’s to tidy. If it was Bob Geldof, there’d be something on humanitarian. Probably Damien Rice (not as nice as he used to be – just ask Lisa Hannigan), Glen Hansard, Duke Special or Liam ó Maonlaí? Or how about someone out of The Levellers, or even the Manics if we’re sticking to true Celtic countries?
Paulo is a good guess, I would have thought they’d just say Scot – rather than something that (erroneously) refers to being more Irish, or a more specific music type than Paulo, who’s kind of folksy rather than specifically Celtic. But perhaps they don’t want to narrow it down too much. (or they’re making sh** up.. again)
It could be a blind from some of the festivals held over the weekend most likely Oxegen or T in the Park. Mind you – Paulo DID play both.

I’d definitely agree with Paolo Nutini, although I don’t remember the heroin addict rumours!
When his first record became popular and he was in the spotlight he was elated, and a Scottish journalist asked how he was going to celebrate his newfound success. Nutini’s response was that he was going to get off his face on coke (can’t remember his exact words, and for the life of me I can’t find the article online).
So yep – he’s got my vote.
